A bill introduced in the House of Representatives by Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., would reinstate a compulsory military draft during war time and require U.S. citizens not selected for military duty to perform a "national service obligation" – as defined by President Obama – for a minimum of two years.
Rangel introduced the Universal National Service Act, or H.R. 5741 on July 15. The measure was referred to the House Armed Services' Subcommittee on Military Personnel on July 23.
Rangel introduced similar bills in 2003, 2006 and 2007. His current bill does not have a co-sponsor.
Rangel took to the floor of the House to reintroduce HR 5741, stating, "I have introduced legislation to reinstate the draft and to make it permanent during time of war. It is HR 5741, and what this does is to make everyone between the ages of 18 and 42 – whether they're men or women, whether they're straight or gay – to have the opportunity to defend this great country whenever the president truly believes that our national security is threatened."

This is actually comical to me...well in a twisted sort of way. I’m beyond the age of ‘recruitment’ however, what is comical to me is that some of the biggest libs I know who voted for the racist/marxist have ‘kids’. You know the kind: “pampered”. Can’t wait to see reaction to this. One particular family, well they sent their kids to the best universities and 3 have graduated. The fourth..well I’m not sure about but they are all of prime age and daddy and mommy voted for this! (so I get my kicks in an unusual way).

Rangel did this a couple times during W’s presidency as well. I have a lib brother (well 2 of them actually), and he is very very anti war. He told me once that W wanted to start the draft, and asked me “how do you feel about that??” knowing I have kids, thinking that would hurt me somehow. I told him, it was a dem that wanted the draft, not W.
He would not believe me. He told me I was a liar.
I printed him articles for his next visit. I handed him the packet (i bet there were 10 articles on Rangel and his draft), he looked at one title, and tossed them on the counter, he refused to look at them. He told me if they were from the internet, they were BS, because anyone can print whatever they want on the internet, blah blah blah, you know the routine.
Libs will NOT, they CANNOT fathom that a dem would want a draft. Heck, I’ve heard kids at our college (I’m an old guy who has to take classes each year for certain stuff) talk about Nixons War. They are convinced, that Nixon started Vietnam and drafted all sorts of people. You cannot tell them it was JFK and Johnson. They just refuse to believe it. And these are kids in our college system.
I am starting to agree with some of the Europeans that we have the stupidest kids in the world in our schools. When Che is a hero, Nixon started Vietnam, Lincoln was a democrat, and W wanted a draft, etc etc etc. I start to lose hope, and wish there was a reset button.
