EPA rejects challenge to climate rules (Fascist Regime)

The Environmental Protection Agency Thursday rejected an effort to keep it from regulating greenhouse gas emissions, saying that e-mails released in last fall’s “Climategate” scandal gave it no reason to reconsider the science of global warming.

In a sternly written opinion, EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson said she didn’t agree with requests from the GOP attorneys general from Texas and Virginia, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and other conservative groups that questioned the underlying science linking humans to global warming and also warned of the potential economic burdens from new climate rules.

Jackson said the groups’ arguments lack merit.

“These petitions — based as they are on selectively edited, out-of-context data and a manufactured controversy — provide no evidence to undermine our determination,” Jackson wrote.

Regarding the e-mails, Jackson said an agency review of the materials show “a candid discussion of scientists working through issues that arise in compiling and presenting large complex data sets.” She said four independent reviews have reached similar conclusions.

EPA’s rules have added weight for the Obama administration now that the Senate has punted for the year on plans to pass a cap-and-trade bill to address climate change.

El Rushbo is right, the regime acts more authoritarian with each passing day. The ignore reality and move forward with their plans to create their liberal utopia in the land of the free and the home of the brave. Unfortunatley for them, the tide is turning and hopefully most of the damage can be reversed before our country is harmed beyond repair.

The court has already ruled that CO2 is a pollutant, and the EPA has been granted the authority to regulate pollution. A court challenge is being made, but I believe SCOTUS decided on the CO2 issue already so not sure what the new challenges are about.

sThis old moonbat would have been kindler and gentler if she'd already figured out a foolproof way to steal with AGW as a cover. She hasn't so she needs more time to think.

The only motive most of these Obama hacks have is to STEAL STUFF ~ otherwise they are grossly incapable.

Has anyone checked to see if the credentials she claims are legitimate?

Got a letter today from URS/EPA OFFICAL GOVERNMENT BUSINESS..OPEN IMMEDIATELY.

They want my Denali to test, and perform maintenance and inspection, voluntarily.

They will provide me with a late-model loaner car, and $20 a day, or just $50 a day, or my vehicle returned with a full tank of fuel. (for l to 4 wks)

Anyone ever heard of this? Is this normal?

Actually the Polar Bear was left off the endangered species list, when it was pointed out (by Sarah Palin, among others) that the Polar Bear population is INCREASING!

The only reason they were “endangered” was the supposed global warming, and people thought a bear that spends so much time in the water it is called a marine mammal was going to drown because the ice under it was supposedly melting!

This is truly Bizarro World. If someone in nuclear physics e-mailed another physicist and said they used a “trick” to “hide the decline” in radioisotope decay, would you STILL trust their calculations?

Fake but accurate! It isn't just Dan Rather these days!

Btw, (I am still reading all the paperwork that came in this envelope), there is a card with our name, make, and vin #.

The card has in bold:

THIS INFORMATION REQUEST IS AUTHORIZED BY LAW...WHETHER OR NOT YOU PLAN TO PARTICIPATE PLEASE RETURN THIS CARD IN THE ENVELOPE.

It has 10 questions to answer, including one asking if I will participate.

Of course I will not.

Wow, how much of our tax dollars did this cost????

I heard something on the news today about the gov’t doing some vehicle testing against a broad range of vehicles but they weren’t going to separate them by class types. Wonder if this has anything to do with it.

They rule that it was a pollutant. They told EPA to tell them why it should or should be considered a pollutant.

When Obama was elected the new EPA came out with an “Endangerment Finding” showing that CO2 was a pollutant because it was dangerous to the climate.

They used the 2007 UN IPCC report to justify it. The challenge was to this Endangerment Finding. Why? See Climategate. Half the papers in this report were not even peer reviewed. The technical basis for the endangerment finding is pure bovine excrement.

Well...the EPA is required by law to follow the “Data Quality Act” when making new regulations. Last time I checked I wasn’t able to publicly comment on UN report.

The EPA couldn’t get the raw temperature record or raw CO2 record even if they wanted it.

EPA is full of freak’n Nazis.

Good question. I think you attack it on every level—federal, state and local. For example, here in California our failed Governor signs on to every green-weenie law shoved under his nose by the corrupt morons in Sacramento; there needs to be far more hell raised by our citizens while the legislation is still being put together and before Governor Schwartzenkennedy signs it—then continue raising hell if he does sign it (email, calls, faxes and snail mail). Then we have the SCAQMD, the Coastal Commission and other worthless aggregations of unelected crooks looking for a place to roost on the public purse. These boards and commissions are forever passing regulations on activities into which they have no business sticking their long needle noses—object, obstruct and refuse to go along with any of this fascist crap (one of these useless agencies is presently trying to restrict, if not eliminate, the private use of home fireplaces. Anyhow, you get the idea.

Me too. If these little commies are not stopped at the ballot box in November, this country might be in a civil war by the end of next year. I don’t see how we can avoid it. They are in the minority in this country, yet they are ramming tyranny and marxism down our throats and robbing this country blind. It has to be stopped. Our government is out of control.

Well, duh. What is not "authorized" is for them to force you to answer. They may be hoping that you think they are.

Could you scan those docs in and show them around? This could be interesting....

What ever happened to the EPA doing independent data gathering and analysis prior to implementing regulations?

That alone should be an issue for the courts. Never before has the EPA taken outside, out of their control, research for something this major.

THe US Senate had the opportunity to strip the EPA of the authority to regulate Carbon Dioxide as a pollutant, but they killed the Resolution by a vote of 53 against, 47 for.

Party line, of course, and the ticket to avoiding a vote on cap and tradew while getting the same results through bureaucratic means.

We might have one election left before we'd have to march on DC from the hinterlands because there would not be enough gas to drive.

Think of the tremendous amountof fuel that goes to raising the most fundamental grains in the US, and you get a picture of a cold, hungry future.
