...One might say that Barack Hussein Obama, or Barack Hussein Obama (Saebarkah), or Barack Hussein (Saebarkah) Soetoro, or Barry Obama, or whatever that guy's name is, is a weird name as well. But I digress.

That video was posted on FR earlier this morning. It’s much to do about nothing.

She mocked their names, which are, in fact, highly mockworthy.

Couric is an airhead but this is a waste of time. We’ve all made fun of Obama and everything else under the sun, and I’m a huge Palin fan but have asked myself the same question. (Now I know the answer!)

Well, I don’t mock the names of Sarah’s kids but they are strange...but then there are a ton of strange names.

Where is it written that your kid has to be named Elizabeth or John?

Gee thanks Katherine, for reminding me why I hate you liberals so much!

Couric couldn’t run a lemonade stand.

One of the great things about liberalism is that their quality is so low that Couric actually is thought of as one of their “intellects”.

I’ll take Palin over the Katie-bimbo anyday... and will happily match my intellectual and work success credentials with ANY liberal ANY time since they love to think they actually have any discernible talent.

What a dishonest article title. Well this is about the fifth or sixth story about this. More pity party for poor Sarah. Man and you all think she is ready for President when she cries every day about how mean people are to her. She needs to grow up or at least stop being so emotional. I will give her a Pity Party. That is what I give my children when they complain.

"...One might say that Barack Hussein Obama, or Barack Hussein Obama (Saebarkah), or Barack Hussein (Saebarkah) Soetoro, or Barry Obama, or whatever that guy's name is, is a weird name as well."

But he sings all the right hymns to the choir from the Leftist hymnal.

That's all that determines who's accepted and who's savaged.

Katie is oblivious to the fact that she owes her "success" entirely to being a loyal tool.

You don’t really want to go into things like where the hell a name like Katherine got a K on the front of it instead of a C, as it was spelled in the tradition

As the name is of Greek origin, I'd say the K version is the original

I suspect that had Katie Couric been around during the days of the Salem Witch Hunts, she would have been the hunted, rather than the hunter.

George-I got a great name for our kid. You wanna hear it? *whistles*
Susan- What is that? Sign language?
George- Seven.
Susan- Seven? That’s not a name. It’s a number.
G- It’s Micky Mantel’s number... (edit)

G- Well, that’s the name!
Susan- Oh no, it is not! No child of mine is ever going to be called Seven.
G- Let’s not get into panic mode here!

What a old bag !

What would happen if someone like Rush Limbaugh or Britt Hume made fun of Barry’s two girls ? Double standards would kick in and people would demand the heads of those who mock Barry’s children !

Can’t say I like Couric, and I do like Palin, but it is a class-issue—and I would of laughed too at Couric’s questions, as I agree... Made-up names are strange, and tend to exist primarily in certain ethnic groups, and/or educational/income levels.

What makes Palin interesting, is she is not of an educational/income level which, in her part of the country at least, has traditionally been very Republican...that’s what makes her so startling and refreshing. She’s a social conservative, who’s moved into being a fiscal conservative as well, or in a way, a Reagan democrat who’s grown up.

That doesn’t make me admire her taste in weird names however. Tis just a minor issue, so who cares?

Naming kids can be tricky. You want a name that’s distinctive, but not weird; stylish, but not trendy; and a name that’s cute enough when they’re young, but will be taken seriously when they’re grown.

You can’t name a girl “Candy” or something and expect her to be referred to as “Judge Candy” later in life, rather than “please take out your dollar bills and welcome Candy to the stage.”

We named our kids Caleb and Reagan.

I don’t care for the names of the Palins’ kids I personally think they cross the line from distictive to weird ... but its really none of my business. Couric is an idiot ... but, it was only an offhand remark, and not altogether unfounded. There are much greater problems with Couric’s “reporting” than her characterization of the Palin kids’ names.

It is extremely disgusting and revealing about Couric that she has a smartass comment to make about the names of Palin’s children *right after* she is talking about Palin not having an abortion when she knew her baby was going to be born with Down Syndrome.

Notice nothing comes to her mind about THAT, for a comment.

Katie’s children:

Elinor Tully “Ellie” Monahan, was born on July 23, 1991; her second daughter, Caroline “Carrie” Couric Monahan, was born on January 5, 1996.

Oh my. She named one daughter Tully and another Couric. Isn’t that precious? s/off

She’s a witch.
