I think this guy could have refused to discuss Palin and told Maher that he wasn’t here to discuss Palin.
Sometimes it is wise to keep your mouth shut. Death panels may be a dramatic way of saying rationing boards, but it is going to be a fact in the near future, unless Obamacare is repealed.
I criticise Palin when I think it is deserved. The stuff this guy is reported to be complaining about is petty.

If anything, what made me laugh at Maher was when he had Ben Affleck on, and made Aflleck into some serious thinker. Maher has been a joke for years. Is he still on HBO, or have they finally cancelled him?
The last picture I saw of Maher he looked like he was dead and was waiting to fall over.
Maher is the Ceausescu of the talk show hosts. He has total disdain for his enemies and his audience whom he considers peons, dullards, and peasants who should worship him for his brilliance.
In actuality he's more like Charlie in “Flowers for Algernon.” He's learned a few tricks that make him sound smarter.
Reported? We're talking about a vanity post from a FReeper and his characterization of a two-sentence exchange in 40-minute interview.
You have to watch the tape - I happened to watch this when it was broadcast. Kingston and Maher are talking for almost 6-minutes about Obama, Obamacare and deficits - in front of funny-man Maher and a VERY hostile crowd - before Maher tries to bring Palin into the discussion because he knows it will further intensify the hostility of the crowd. Kingston tries to deflect initially with the code-pink comment, then he tries to use some magnanimity and says that both sides should avoid using "scare tactics" - it's a fine retort, especially considering that he's trying to NOT make the debate about Palin, but Obama and Maher is trying to do the exact opposite.
This is what happens when conservatives engage hostile interviewers in front of hostile audiences. Again, if Palin and her worshipers are mad about it, perhaps she can start entertaining some hostile interviews as well, rather than hiding in friendly territory like Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity.
This is what capable conservatives do - they take the fight to their enemy. This is why Michelle Bachmann is on MSNBC ALL THE TIME. She's not afraid.
I give tremendous credit to both Issa and Kingston for making their case in front of an audience that hates them.

Bill Maher attacks Sarah Palin, and Kingston and Issa don't want to talk about Sarah Palin, but do want to talk about Barack Obama - so what's the conclusion - Kingston and Issa MUST be RINOs - at least that's what the Palin sycophants think.
If Sarah Palin doesn't like the treatment she gets on that show, perhaps Sarah Palin can take Bill Maher on. Let's see if she can do any better than Kingston and Issa. I won't hold my breath.

You are half right. I didn’t watch the interview, oh arrogant one! However, my post had little , if anything, to do with the interview. I was merely stating a now apparent observation that you are so obsessed with Palin supporters that you have become the “rabid dog” on anything pertaining to Palin. You have no business castigating others for their views on Palin but, apparently you are your own idol and worship your own views.

A scare tactic is useful when you are dealing with a VERY SCARY issue. Medicare is already counseling elderly folks on taking the easy way out - I witnessed this firsthand with my Father last year. At 90, he was in better health than many 60 year olds!
If you are anybody who cares about life, you can’t help but be appalled by the complete life system written by Ezekiel Emanuel (Rahm’s brother and Obamacare architect). And even worse, the sadistic ramblings of Donald Berwick, the health-care rationing czar, “most people who have serious pain do not need advanced methods, they just need the morphine and counseling that have been around for centuries.”
Frankly, I don’t want any union thug, bureaucrat or anyone from government telling me or my family what treatment we can get to improve/prolong life. IT IS NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS!!
But then if gubmint is paying the bills, it WILL be their business. Hello rationing and death panels! Sarah was/is correct. You may not like the term, but the fact remains with Obamacare, someone will be picking health care winners and losers. Do you really trust you or your loved one’s lives to Obama’s czars? As a Christian, Conservative, legal American, I know I don’t.
