Turks Hit PKK With Chemical Weapons

Report: German newspaper says photos of dead Kurds confirm use.

BERLIN – German politicians called on Thursday for an international investigation into the reported use of chemical weapons by the Turkish military. The weapons were used against members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), according to the online edition of the German weekly magazine Der Spiegel.

“Turkey needs to urgently look into these accusations,” said Ruprecht Polenz, chairman of the Foreign Affairs committee in the Bundestag and a member of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union party.

Polenz recommended an international investigation to examine the deaths of eight Kurdish activists from the PKK. Claudia Roth, co-chair of the German Green party, echoed Polenz’s criticisms, seconding his call for an investigation.

MP Andrej Hunko urged the German Foreign Ministry to file a complaint against Turkey with the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in The Hague.

A forensic report from Hamburg University Hospital confirmed that the eight Kurds had been murdered by “the use of chemical substances.”

Troubling. The PKK is a pretty nasty terrorist organization in its own right, but then again Turkey is transforming itself into an islamist state, supporting Iran, Hamas, and Hezbollah. Echoing Kissinger, “couldn’t they both lose?”

We don’t belong in that part of the world....

We probably wouldn't be at all concerned with the ME if it weren't for the discovery of oil. It's like some cosmic joke such large reserves are there.

And it's not funny.

And we are leaving Iraq, and turning a blind eye to the events in Turkey.

UH HUH.
Don’t even think about sending our troops back in when all hell breaks loose.

Really? I was not aware chemical weapons tear people to pieces. That’s rather strange.

Chemical weapons can cause skin boils/damage but they do not ‘tear’ peaple to pieces. Depending on the toxin used, there could potentially be little or no external damage to the bodies. The nerve gasses just shut down muscle function.

“Genocide is not a new concept for Turks”

Troublemaking is not a new concept for Kurds.

Yeah...are we just talking white phosphorous munitions? It’s a chemical sure...but come on, that’s a stretch, all munitions have chemicals that burn, some faster than others.

I agree, they have proven themselves to be unworthy when they failed to help with the Iraq invasion. There were many of our military who did not come home thanks to them.

The ethnic difference between Turks and Kurds & the totalitarianism trend by the Turks to impose upon the Kurds. The provocation of Israeli security sources and Edrogan’s constant looking-for to severe Israel, proves them to be leaning more towards Islamofascism and away from Ataturk.

Germans never used battlefield chem weapons. They tossed their Tabun into the Oder in 1945 before the Red Army got hold of it.

IIRC, leftists also consider tear gas a “chemical weapon.”

One thingI recently discovered, over 2 million Europeans own homes in Turkey. Most are from Germany but also many from the UK, especially from Scotland.

They may discover that Turkey really is a gas!
