Wikileaks Julian Assange: Afghans Aiding U.S. Are Traitors (Media Ignores)
Friday, August 13, 2010 | Kristinn

Posted on 08/13/2010 9:59:12 AM PDT by kristinn

Wikileaks mastermind Julian Assange let slip his terrorist sympathies during an Internet conference held Thursday where he announced plans to release 15,000 more classified Pentagon documents on the war in Afghanistan, following on the group's previous release of 76,000 Pentagon computer files on the war.

The Australian Assange, speaking via Skype from an undisclosed location to a gathering at the Frontline Club in London, called Afghans helping the United States fight al Qaeda and the Taliban traitors who should be outed. Wikileaks has come under criticism from Amnesty International and Reporters Without Borders for releasing the classified Pentagon documents without redacting the names of Afghans who have given information or worked with the U.S. in support of the war.

Assange's calling anti-al Qaeda and Taliban Afghans traitors comes after the Taliban publicly threatened those named in the Wikileaks files with 'punishment.'

Speaking by telephone from an undisclosed location, Zabihullah Mujahid told Channel 4 News that the insurgent group will investigate the named individuals before deciding on their fate.

"We are studying the report," he said, confirming that the insurgent group already has access to the 92,000 intelligence documents and field reports.

"We knew about the spies and people who collaborate with US forces. We will investigate through our own secret service whether the people mentioned are really spies working for the US. If they are US spies, then we know how to punish them."

...The Taliban regularly executes those accused of collaborating. Methods of execution include public hangings, beheadings, shootings and in one recent incident, strapping two alleged traitors to explosives before detonating them in public.

The Wall Street Journal was the only outlet to report on Assange's pro-terrorist remarks:

He expressed some ambivalence about the need to protect Afghans who have helped the U.S. military. "We are not obligated to protect other people's sources," including sources of "spy organizations or militaries," unless it is from "unjust retribution," he said, adding that the Afghan public "should know about" people who have engaged in "genuinely traitorous" acts.

Also yesterday, the Australian government revealed the Obama administration has not asked it to arrest or restrict Assange's travels abroad:

On Thursday (AEST), Australian Foreign Minister Stephen Smith said the US administration had not asked him to consider pressing criminal charges against Assange.

"I have not had representations made to me about the matters you refer to," Mr Smith said in answer to a question at the National Press Club in Canberra.

Nor had the US asked Australia to restrict Assange's passport, he said.

The Journal also reported that Assange fears being arrested by the U.S. and appears to have taken steps to disguise himself:

Mr. Assange said he still fears that the U.S. is trying to have him arrested for publishing the classified documents. He was meant to appear in person at the panel discussion about the media at London's Frontline Club, but dialed in by Skype instead. Asked by an audience member for his current location, he said "no comment." He appeared to have dyed his trademark white hair brown, and to have cut it in a close crop.

However, Assange recently said that he has sources inside the Obama administration feeding him information to keep him safe:

"In terms of returning to the United States I don't know. Our sources advise from inside the US government that there were thoughts of whether I could be charged as a co-conspirator to espionage, which is serious.

"That doesn't seem to be the thinking within the United States any more however there is the other possibility of being detained as a material witness and being kept either in confinement or not being allowed to leave the country until the Manning case is concluded."

Yes, and it’s a monetarily sound way to go about it.

It’s a win/win. ;^)

He should be judged, and executed under his own standards. That’s what God will do.

Hey, that would be nice. I don’t hold back much when it comes to folks trying to undermine our national security.

As much as I would love to see him get rubbed out that ain’t gonna happen. I think the best thing to do is just publish all his personal data on the internet. Also his family. Where he is today, where they live, work, etc. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Make him sweat right now.

Be careful, Julian Assange is actually Barry Soetoro’s screen name. The SS might get upset with you.

"Wrong. We don’t have enough freedom these days. What we also are lacking is the will to protect those freedoms from those who aid our wartime enemies."

Was about to respond to him but you nailed it.

Don’t be surprised if this clown expires during an auto-erotic suffocation incident.

Probably the most likely and actually realistic ending to expect.

No, not his family. Everything else though. Seriously, he goes on about Afghan ‘traitors’ but aren’t there still Australian troops out there? If so, it would be poetic justice for him to be terminated with extreme prejudice by his own government, just like many of the Afghans he has exposed to the Taliban’s vengeance will be, thanks to his actions...

Also yesterday, the Australian government revealed the Obama administration has not asked it to arrest or restrict Assange's travels abroad.

Add this to the news reported yesterday that the Administration was no longer pressuring Pakistan to go after the Taliban and our policy in the region becomes clear. Poor bastards who helped us.
