Helen Thomas' nameplate vanishes
Washington Examiner ^ | August 13, 2010 | Nikki Schwab

Just like the veteran reporter who use to sit in that seat, Helen Thomas' White House briefing room nameplate is gone. But turns out, it wasn't removed to make way for the Associated Press, which is getting Thomas' front-row seat. Instead, it has vanished.

It disappeared earlier this week, and nobody seems to know who took it. With tourists coming in and out of the briefing room every day, it seems plausible someone might have nabbed the name plate as a souvenir, one source told Yeas & Nays. Thomas, who was interviewed by Mediaite's Tommy Christopher, doesn't have it at home with her either.

Oh gee, AP will really balance the coverage. I guess that is close enough for them to really wedge their nose right up in there.

Maybe instead of a “Beware of Dog” sign...it will be modified to read “Beware of Helen Thomas”? I’d think twice before breaking into a place...

A highly respected and very intelligent man at work, liked by everyone, died suddenly ~ on the very day we were expecting him to return from an illness of some sort.

It was such a cold blow.

Then, within two weeks we heard the first "Old what'shisname's office".

Somebody probably spilled water on it, and it disintegrated.

She didn’t take the trash basket? How did she carry all that stuff out? Was the boss’s briefcase missing as well? Did she raid the stationery cabinet too?

Sorry to joke about it, but that made me LOL. She’s a petit thief, and cheeky to boot.

Somewhat like the guy working in a Russian plant.
He would go home after his shift and the security guard would inspect his wheelbarrow etc.
This was a ritual for 20 years and on the retirement date of the guard he stated “I have seen you leave here every day for 20 years and I know you are stealing something comrade. I am retiring, so your secret is safe with me. Please, what are you taking?”

“Wheelbarrows”.

Most places I’ve worked, if somebody got let go, they were escorted off the property. That prevents theft, data destruction, spite vandalism, etc. If it had been a problem employee, two people did the escort to prevent he-said-he-said situations too.
