Make that a burger, fries and a side of Lipitor, please.

It could happen. As a public service, British researchers are proposing that fast-food eateries dole out complimentary cholesterol-lowering statin drugs to offset the hazardous glories of their fatty cuisines.

So who will be sued when they figure out ten years from now that “cholesterol-lowering statin drugs” cause gynemastia, severe testicular shrinkage and cancer?

And when not enough people take advantage of the “Free Statins” offer, they’ll mix it in with the burger.

Some restaurants should serve Alka-Seltzer or Pepto-Bismol on tap.

I dislike fast food - to me it barely fits the description of food.

But I like government interference far less.

Do you really think any doctor is going to tell you that Ketchup lowers your cholesterol?

Quite a few years back, I decided to eat healthy and lose weight. This is something you can not back off or it is all for nothing. It was my decision - not the governments. As it should be.

Since I'm on an anti-cholesterol medication, I was originally on lovastatin (known by its brand name Mevacor). However, lovastatin would occasionally cause abdominal pains from affecting the liver, so as soon as simvastatin (known by its brand name Zocor) became available as a generic drug, I was switched to the newer drug--no more abdominal pains.

I tried one anti-cholesterol medicine years ago, Zocor, if I recall correctly, which seemed to cause muscle pain.

Then went on Lipitor for years until an insurance change pushed me to Crestor.

Crestor

Mandy Patinkin used to do their commercials on TV:

"My name is Inigo Montoya.
You ate a french fry.
Prepare to die.

Or take Crestor!"
