Michael Scherer of Time tried to explain the concept of "Why Barack Obama Doesn't Like to Chit-Chat with the Press Corps" -- despite their obvious affection for him. The president's first Ground Zero Mosque comments were "perfectly scripted," he wrote, and perfectly timed, on a Friday night at a Muslim dinner celebrating Ramadan. Scherer doesn't get that the venue could be controversial, considering Obama's allergies to traditional Christian prayer breakfasts. But this "perfect" scenario was ruined by the White House press pool (specifically, CNN's Ed Henry):
A reporter asked a stray question, and Obama blew all the careful planning of his staff. He varied from his initial remarks, creating a new narrative for a story the White House does not want to linger. Was he adding an asterisk to his remarks, as the Washington Post put it? Was it a recalibration, as the New York Times put it? In short, this is a communications disaster. The White House had to release a statement clarifying the new statement, or restatement, or whatever.

Blaming the press? No... this is clearly Bush’s fault.
I hear Bob Schieffer openly weeping on CBS radio this morning.
The puppet cannot, ever be allowed to speak off the cuff, Higher Powers know that.
Strong maternal instinct, that.
I don’t want a president that is “perfectly scripted”. Hollywood can provide that any day of the week. I want a president that is honest.
Dang that press for giving Obama a chance to demonstrate his boneheadedness.
Obama stood up at a Muslim dinner in celebration of Ramadan and said in a very forceful voice,
LET ME BE CLEAR, ...
There is no backtracking out of this. We all know what he said, how he said it, where he said it, when he said it, and what he meant by it.
You would think that it would be possible for even this kool-aid guzzler to realize that this POTUS is an empty mind without his TOTUS. Blaming the Press Pool for blowing off the “carefully crafted” message is blaming the messenger rather than the source!
These elitist morons in journalism make me sick. The problem isn’t the press, the problem is Obama. He wants this mosque built.
rofl, this is an admission that Obama Is a PUPPET in every definition of the word
These “journalists” seem to think that if they lie enough times, the public will believe them.
“I want a president that is honest.”
Exactly, people who are honest, who are speaking from the heart their true convictions, don’t have to be scripted. His off-the-cuff remarks demonstrate his real mindset, not the words on the teleprompter.
The Obama Puppet is just the face, the announcer. He makes no decisions, he does not lead. EVERYTHING has be delegated to others to do while he play golf and when its time for him to make an announcement of what his advisors have decided, he will dutifully come out and make a speech as if its his decision
Has anyone leaked what went on at the WH lunch meeting of liberal journolists?
I also want a press that is honest. Not that that's about to happen.
Remember when he said something to the effect of:
"The call to muslime prayer is the sweetest sound in the world".
Quayle got unfairly branded an idiot over "potato".
Bush became a laughingstock over "misunderestimated".
Obama? Time after time he comes out with some truly stupid, ignorant, boneheaded statement -- but that never alters the fact that he is both brilliant and articulate. Sheesh!
Bush’s fault?
Face it, Scherer, your hero is an old muslim who wants a mosque near Ground Zero.
Clearly any member of the media who files a story without receiving prior approval from the Whitey House should be FIRED.
Last night I listened for some time to a dear friend ranting about evil corporations in partnership with the government to kill everyone. He was angry about a dental bill, his lack of medical insurance, his boss who teased him about his age. He was a flower child of the 60s and is now going bitterly into old age with nothing really to his name. In his mind, everyone is out to screw everyone else.
I finally lost my patience and told him he was shortening his own life by getting caught up in conspiracy theories when, mostly, everyone is just trying to make the best life for themselves. I told him the doctor, nurses, emergency room, corporations and others have no obligation to be nice to him, just because. I told him he would be a lot happier if he just realized that mankind is fallen, selfish and naturally looking out for number one.
In the same line of reasoning, politicians have no reason to be honest. Their only ambition is to get re-elected to take care of their friends so their friends will take care of them later on. Corporations have no obligation to look after our best interest. Their only desire is to make money for their shareholders. The press has no reason to be honest. They only exist to sell advertising. The sooner we stop expecting people in general to be altruistic, the sooner we stop letting our anger eat us up. That isn’t to say these folks get away with their dishonesty or immoral acts because it eventually catches up with them, but we hurt ourselves if we expect them to act morally.

I don't have a problem with that - it's their choice. It's been years since I had a subscription with any local paper, and even the WSJ subscription may not last forever.
According to The Daily Caller, writing on the ‘Journolist’, Scherer agreed with Guardian columnist Daniel Davies who said “peer pressure” and “self-regulation” weren’t enough to control Fox News, so what was needed was a “tough legal framework.”
Scherer then went on to add that,
Roger “Ailes understands that his job is to build a tribal identity, not a news organization. You can’t hurt Fox by saying it gets it wrong, if Ailes just uses the criticism to deepen the tribal identity.”
Yes, I have no doubt that zero is a muslime, plain and simple.

The puppet cannot, ever be allowed to speak off the cuff, Higher Powers know that.
And he is a puppet. He is a fake president. He provides the face while others govern. Focusing on what he says or thinks or does is a waste of time most of the time since he is just the figurehead. The only time it is useful to notice his remarks is when he goes off script.
True true. Enlightened self-interest is still the best adjudicator of the marketplace. Companies which are in it for the quick hit don’t last long and people don’t trust them. Those who think both short-term and long-term, profit and good public relations are the best companies to move the economy. And consumers who have choice and information are the best ultimate arbiters of good corporate citizenship.
