'Birther Queen' Taitz Vows to Keep Fighting After Supreme Court Denies Appeal
Talking Points Memo ^ | 8/16/10 | Ryan J. Reilly

Posted on 08/16/2010 2:46:09 PM PDT by detritus

So-called "Birther Queen" Orly Taitz hadn't yet heard about the Supreme Court's decision to uphold a $20,000 fine against her when TPMMuckraker reached her on Monday.

But Taitz told TPMMuckraker she is convinced that none of the members of the court read her request, and that clerks made the decision for the justices...

A federal judge's October 2009 ruling required Taitz, a lawyer and dentist who has filed several suits claiming President Barack Obama is not a natural born citizen, to pay the fine for filing "frivolous" litigation. Taitz was attempting to misuse the federal court system to push her political agenda, the judge said...

Taitz said reports that there was a lien on her house were untrue, and that she would be able to cover the $20,000 fine with donations from her supporters. "I have means to pay, the public is collecting funds," Taitz said. She said she received $3,500 in four or five days. "Within a month, I will have the $20,000," Taitz said. "Most of them are contributing maybe $20, $25 dollars, there's a lot of support."...

As she did last year, Taitz on Monday once again compared herself to Nelson Mandela. "Nelson Mandela was in prison for years, he went against the regime, but ultimately he prevailed," Taitz said. The fine, said Taitz, "was means of intimidation and harassment."...

“As someone who posts here said earlier “He’s alright with that”.”

Who said that?

I give up. You tell me what he posted that wasn’t a “fact”. I wasn’t questioning that, RahBert.

My issue is with gloating over issues among those who give a damn about the authenticity of anyone for public office. McCain submitted his birth certificate for review. Other decent people running for the office of President have, too. Why not your friend, “0”?

“My friend 0” of whom you speak rode into office on a greased rail. My guess is that “my friend 0” knew that
it doesn’t matter as long as he wins the election.

You sound like you are bitter and dissapointed that a
determined socialist and communist would not submit his BC.

I suggest you grow up and learn to defeat your enemies before they get elected into office, not after.

He won, and now it doesn’t matter. No amount of Orly Taitz
legal briefs can change that. Pray that our side does better
in 2012.

As for the cost, talk to Perkins coie

You made the claim that Obama "has spent $2.9m to keep people from getting the information". You should be able to offer some proof.

That Perkins Coie firm is helping with tax compliance issues for the entire Obama family as well as being involved with the administrations entanglements with the Blagojevich trial. (They have a rather large office in Chicago that includes former federal prosecutors.) There is zero evidence that payments made to Perkins Coie have anything to do with birther cases. Chances are, some of it was spent on some birther issues, but the $2.9 million "to keep people from getting the information" is completely made up.

There is no public information available to ascertain which cases those funds were distributed to within the law firm. Even WND admits they don't know.

Regardless of what anyone feels about Orly Taitz, why should we expect a court that can’t even protect human life capable of making consistent rational decisions.

The Supreme Court is a crap shoot, and has been for decades.

Rule of law has become law of rulers.

So if anyone here is saying, “see, the Supreme Court said so,” as some kind of justification for your own position, I feel sorry for you.

‘they’ were the drive-by media in the spring of 2008... Abc, CBS, NBC, CNN, cnbc, etc. They started that once it became obvious he was going to win the GOP nomination

I could be mistaken, but I don't think ANY of those particular news outlets had anything to say about McCain's eligibility. And those that did (NYTimes, WSJ, Washington Post), they ran stories about the Constitutional question, but those stories were all pretty heavily on McCain's side.

After McCain handed over the info,

McCain didn't hand over any info.

In June 2008, they asked 0bama for the same information, once it was clear he would have the nomination.

This is wrong in two respects. One, because McCain didn't hand over anything, Obama couldn't have been asked for "the same information." Two, while a few in the media did ask Obama to produce a birth certificate starting June 9, the COLB was posted on June 12, and every rational person in the media was satisfied.

And has a spent $2.9m to keep people from getting the information

Except he hasn't. Like Tex said, that's a made-up number. Really, a 10 second Google search would have shown you that's wrong.

"The Constitution is fairly clear on this matter."

Yes it is.

"If expecting it be adhered to makes one a birther..."

It doesn't. Expecting it to be adhered to, regardless of political desires, makes one an anti-birther. It's the birthers that want to dispense with the Constitution.

"A certificate of live birth is not the same as a birth certificate. I really don’t have to go into the differences... You should do your homework."

Apparently, you shouldn't be the one giving homework advice.

A "birth certificate" is a general name for a document that certifies the facts of birth. It has no one specific form. A "certificate of live birth" is one possible specific title for a birth certificate. It could also be titled one of several variations on the theme. They are all specific examples of the class, "birth certificate".

Yes, the Constitution is very clear that only the Congress can remove a sitting a President from office, so everything Orly, and her snarling band of deluded supporters, has tried to do is unmitigated, self aggrandizing Bravo Sierra. No, no, no need for you to reply, I know what you are going to say:

Yes, impeachment by Congress is the only way to remove the President from office, but BO isn't President, so Orly can go the American Grand Jury, and and get discovery, and have Interpol ordered to go to Kenya, and get his real birth certificate, not the fake one he used to get a passport, and the PROVE that BO's real daddy was Frank Marshall, and that BO was born in Canada, so that he's not a natural born citizen, just born an American citizen, but anyway he hasn't released his kindergarten transcript, and why won't he do that? and why does he have 27 social security numbers? and I ... (/high pitched hysterical gibbering)

Meanwhile, we have a general election coming in seventy odd days. How about Freepers woek to support Republican candidates, and not deranged dentists.

Sounds really ominous...foreboding...and unsurprisingly birtheristically fallacious.

The Constitution is very clear that no one has the power to seat an unqualified person as president. Neither Congress, the Electoral College, or the electorate has the authority to ignore or unilaterally amend the Constitution.

It doesn't matter if they have zero evidence to back it up. They can be shown the facts a million times, and will continue to parade out the same talking points in every birther thread.

It's the same sort of behavior you see with any group of conspiracy theorists.

You should be ashamed of yourself for impugning Justice Thomas’s character. He has never before given any indication that he’s anything by a strong-willed Conservative Justice.

How do you know the "clerks" in the Supreme Court are not guilty of altering records?

Can you prove that it didn't happen?
