She was “punished” with a baby......
One of the local TV stations is reporting that the 2 year old showed defensive wounds. Can you even imagine a 2 year old baby fighting off his mother as she’s trying to smother him? Lord, please hold those little boys close.

This world has one perverted opinion of what *good* and *bad* parents are.
I also heard them on the news whining about how *financial* pressures were an issue. Now they're going to blame it on that and push for an increase in welfare.

While there are hereditary factors (i.e. Manute Bol didn't have the same genetic makeup as Oprah), people too often quote "junk science" about metabolism and other processes as an excuse for obesity.

The sheriff's job is to enforce the law -- nothing more, nothing less. Preparing the opening statement for defense at trial is NOT in his job description. Whatever his personal opinions are, he is still the chief law enforcement officer and his statements should be based on law and fact. If this trial stays in Orangeburg County, the woman will probably get only a Mr. Yuck sticker and a hankie.
