"unexpectedly" is a euphemism for:
all the usual suspects have already made their hedges,
bets, sales and bids on the market using their
(previously illegal) prior knowledge.

I expect jobless claims will rise next month. I may be the only person that expects that to happen (other than the rest of FR). What I would find "unexpected" would be a drop in jobless claims.
Who do these idiots think they're foolin' anyway?

How unexpected. I would have thought that Obama’s numerous vacations would have added some jobs.

Holy (Insert swear word). And considering how many times GDP is revised downward, that’s Trouble...

Maybe the drop has something to do with Soros selling everything off? Probably not. I don't think that professional stock investors care about what Soros does with stocks.

I'll bet the IPO market is hot right about now.
This would be a dandy time for a GM offering!

Sorry. I'm still playing the "unexpected" drinking game. It used to be with more gusto --
"UNEXPECTED!" but I'm really slowing down lately. And it is time for my second cup of coffee....

“Its only unexpected to liberals. They have no clue how economies work and probably dont care as long as they can leach off someone else.”
I finally see how “Socioeconomic factors of minorities in the 19th century” benefits leftwing college students. It prepared them for a life of “unexpectedly.”
No wonder Liberalism is a mental disorder.
