Armed group of Christian Conservatives to Protect Church During Burning of Quran (on 9/11/10)
World Correspondants ^ | August 22, 2010 | Mikael Gunatela ยท

The Christian conservative organization Right Wing Extreme has offered its support and protection for the 'International Burn a Quran Day'.

Right Wing Extreme was founded in April of 2009 after the Department of Homeland Security’s report titled Right Wing Extremism.

The report labeled those who are against Illegal Immigration, abortion, higher taxation, returning military veterans, big government, and Christian groups as Right Wing Extremist and put them on a watch list.

The report was sent out to all law enforcement agencies in April 2009 and the group has been recruiting members ever since.

“We fully support Dove World Outreach Center and its efforts to put an end to the notion that Islam is a peaceful religion. Islam is a violent cult with the goal of world domination.” Says Right Wing Extreme founder Shannon Carson.

Right Wing Extreme has repeatedly said that Obama is a Muslim who is intentionally destroying America’s economy, constitution, and has a socialist agenda aimed at bringing about a New World Order.

The group’s website www.rightwingextreme.us has a “Defcon” meter that is currently at defcon 3 which says Defcon 3 constitutes a moderate state of alert. Disruptions to peace and prosperity are evident.

Clear and present threats are apparent and public. Moral and ethical code are under moderate attack.

In a state of Defcon 3, the United States Constitution is partially intact and is under moderate forms of public attack from special interest groups, global powers or influences, or other threats.

I get it...and understand the motives behind this burning...
but wish it weren’t so provacative and disrespectful.
We don’t need to be our enemy to conquer our enemy...
(I just made that up...)

I completely agree....but it seems to me that it’s easy to burn their Holy Book just to get in their faces...
The majority of us are against all that Islam stands for and that should motivate us to make sure this will not take hold in our society...that doesn’t come from burning their Korans...

Bibles were confiscated and burned by the US Military in Afghanistan.

OK, I get it...I GET it!!!!
But does that make it right to do it on our side?
Is it a sign of “weakness” to not succumb to the temptation to do the same thing to the Koran?
I just think there are more constructive things that could be done...like putting people in place who will protect our Judeo-Christian way of life...

Fear, fretting and sniveling is what the right does best!

Which is why the commies were emboldened to steal our earnings and private healthcare, unaccosted and with impunity.

The people who oppose the burning of the Koran are the people who would have opposed the dumping of the tea in Boston. They would probably be proud to exclaim what a symbolic gesture it was that started the beginnings of a free America and proudly teach it to their children. Yet will cower in fear trying to find some safe harbor lest the same sort of gesture today would threaten the false safety of apathy they hide in.

Personally, I am for anything that causes Muzzi irritation. I wish them well, and I won’t spend a minute worrying about how “it makes us look intolerant”.

.
Do you expect the Satanic Verses to include love in its message?

It only sucks because of the type of government we currently “enjoy”. Remember November!

I agree. It paints the entire right as extreme. This can only enflame those Muslims that area working with us. What can a Muslim in uniform think of such actions? I am ardent right-wing US Army vet with over 500 support the troops rallies, and countless boxes to the troops. Burning the Koran is a bad idea. Wonder what they’d do if the Bible were burnt?

You act as if no one on this site is aware of these facts. They are. However, burning a Quaran/Koran is the wrong action. Remember how you feel when the Bible, or even the flag is burnt or otherwise descerated? Can you imagine a military member who happens to be Muslim seeing this? Here he/she is putting their life on the line for religious freedom and this happens? This isn’t the right way to fight the radical Muslims. Two wrongs don’t make right.

I don't think Americans have quite figured out how to fight the creep of Islam in our country, mostly because it masquerades as a religion, which is a thing that most Americans are loathe to attack or suppress.

Honestly, I don't know what it's going to take for Americans to begin pushing back against Islamic expansion in this country.

After all that violent Muslims have already done, there's still a "controversy" about building the Cordoba mosque near Ground Zero. That alone, tells me that we haven't been sufficiently outraged as a nation, therefore the will to overtly suppress Islam in America isn't there yet.

I honestly don't know what it's going to take.

I am not Muslim, nor am I a coward, but this is not a good thing. There are other ways to fight. Can you imagine a soldier who happens to be Muslim putting his/her life on the line only to see his/her holy book torched? Shame on you for supporting such actions.

I think my wife would agree with you.

I am on the fence because I don't want violence. Still, I think the timing is right to see whether this action would actually be interpreted as protected First Amendment free speech (it should) or whether our system is already so corrupt that it sides with the islamists.

Tough times require tough actions. I'd probably come down on the side of doing it. We need to assess the real threat to our system of govt and our lives.

Rednecks with guns burning religious texts....About the most stupid thing they can do.

In fact, it has such destructive potential that I'd bet that the left is behind it, a couple of layers back but still there.
