In early May, Todd Palin showed up at Joe Miller's first major fundraiser as a Senate candidate. A month later, Sarah Palin endorsed the challenger to incumbent Lisa Murkowski in typical fashion, on Facebook. She called Miller a "Commonsense Constitutional Conservative" and praised his true Alaskan values. Palin also insinuated that Murkowski was a corrupt abortion-loving hippie, all after wondering why anyone would imagine there was "bad blood" between them.
A square-off between the state's former first family and the popular senior Alaskan senator should have seriously altered the dynamics of the primary race. That is, if anyone in Alaska cared.
As Sarah Palin works to become nearly ubiquitous in the Lower 48, many of her former supporters in Alaska are trying just as hard to forget her.
When Joe Miller loses the primary today, hardly anyone in Alaska will be surprised that Palin's chosen candidate did poorly.
Palin's influence in the state started to slip when she agreed to be John McCain's running mate in August 2008, and it only eroded further when she resigned as governor last July. Now, Palin is mostly a reality TV nuisance in the very state she's always gushing about. The Washington Post may track her every endorsement, but this summer the Anchorage Daily News published more items on bears and caribou (45) than it did on Palin and her family (39). If Alaskans aren't paying attention to her, why should anybody else?

Oops.
I noticed her that her Monday column on Slate that made the exact same idiotic prediction had the comments feature wiped and disabled.
Really grasping at straws here, aren't we?
I hope you are right
and reposting that silly article from yesterday is brilliant
Ms. Murkowski trailed her primary-election challenger, Joe Miller, by 2,555 votes Wednesday morning in incomplete returns. With 84% of precincts reporting, Ms. Murkowski had 48.6% of the vote to 51.4% for Mr. Miller, an attorney and former judge whose candidacy had been considered a long shot.
The outcome may be unknown until next week. The Associated Press reported that more than 16,000 absentee ballots won’t be counted until Aug. 31.
PDS Platoon in 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
I noticed their banner reads “The American Prospect” “liberal intelligence”, yes an oxymoron.
Geez, just heard Ari Fleisher on Palin. Palin must still have influence in Alaska not so much in the lower 48!!!! What a dick
Oh Geeez, spare me. http://www.prospect.org/cs/about_tap/our_mission
This is written by a girl who’s just two years from her undergraduate education at Harvard. One can hardly expect her to have a clue as to how the world works—and Obamacare doesn’t consider her an adult for another couple of years.
Check the Washington Post crime report column tomorrow for a story about a hysterical, drunken woman vandalizing Palin books in the local Barnes & Noble.
What does Kathleen Parker have to do with this?
My suggestion is she better stay in contact with him and make sure he doesn't go ‘Maverick’ again. That would destroy her influence. He owes her big time now. She doesnt want to be the Dr Frankenstien who couldnt resist reviving the Monster she cant control.
Well, it’s at least a squad if you count those on sick call for PDS...

Rush talking about this now... as usual, FR is Rush’s top “show prep” site! ;-)
