UK: I'm a victim too says the widow of 7/7 bomber, in legal aid claim that could delay inquest
The Daily Mail (U.K.) ^ | August 25, 2010 | REBECCA CAMBER

Posted on 08/25/2010 7:12:36 PM PDT by Stoat

The widow of a July 7 suicide bomber yesterday launched a High Court bid to be represented at the victims’ inquest - saying she had also suffered the loss of a loved one in the atrocity.

Hasina Patel, whose husband was terrorist mastermind Mohammad Sidique Khan, is seeking legal aid to challenge the coroner’s decision to exclude Khan’s death from the hearing for the 52 victims of the 2005 London bombings.

If the mother of one’s application is granted, October’s long-awaited inquest could be delayed by months of legal wrangling, to the distress of those who have waited more than five years for it to take place.

Lawyers for Miss Patel claim there should be ‘no material distinction’ between her and the families of those killed, because she ‘equally suffered the loss of a relative’.

I think that the Ground Zero Mosque Outrage here in the USA is really helping to shine the light of truth on them for many Americans who may have been unaware of what these people are about or perhaps a bit too eager to be congenial and friendly toward people who profess to be 'moderate' in their practice of Islam.

This is an outrage, she’s a victim now and wants free lawyers and look how she is dressed, she had better remove that crap from her face for court too

Agreed, although my guess would be that any effort to have her dress like a human being will be met with more lawsuits, just as what is happening in Disneyland right now.

Great minds thinking alike ;-)  You're quite welcome and I'm delighted that the story is of interest to you :-)

From the article:

Miss Patel, who was born in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, married Khan in 2002 after they met at Dewsbury College, where both were studying to work in the education sector.

A sector of the working world that has consistently shown a passionate enthusiasm toward the ideology that "Miss Patel" and her thankfully-deceased husband had.

Agreed.

Victim because her husband is with 72 virgins by now?

Indeed, she may ask for additional Government money to help her overcome her pain and heartbreak in knowing that her husband is cavorting with 72 virgins in heaven, and if anyone dares to remind her that her husband is in fact Hitler's cabana boy in Hell, there will undoubtedly be additional 'hate speech' lawsuits.

She stands to make a tidy sum off this, it seems.

It’s almost insulting to use a Hebrew word to describe this, but does anything but chutzpah fit?

Not a single word, but Jesse Jacksonesque gaul fits, too.

I think you mean “gall”, but the point is well taken.

This comes very close to the old joke about the woman who murders her husband and then requests leniency from the court because she is a widow.

I have been working on an essay, which I may publish soon, in which I will stipulate that the Western cultural aversion to collective responsibility for terrorist crimes should and must be overcome.

Terrorists do NOT operate in a vacuum. Can there be any doubt in anyone’s mind that this “woman” did NOT know her husband was planning this act? And that by not stopping him she is a guilty as he is for the deaths that resulted?

also a position where they can have power and influence over the future of kids.

Course I know Dewsbury and many parts of it is more like Pakistan, infact if one took a photo of some of the streets there most in the world would not think it was England but would think of it as a third world country like Pakistan.

The Govt had better wake up and clamp down on arranged marriages where they bring over another 20 of a family.
Stop this marrying of 4 wives to a muslim man where they band out 15 kids and then claim from the Govt for a house and money.
They had better stop immigration from the 3rd world countries and only accept those with degrees and can accept our way of life.
Also there is probably more like a million illegals and it’s time to get rid of them too.

It’s almost insulting to use a Hebrew word to describe this, but does anything but chutzpah fit?

I agree, a Hebrew or Yiddish word would seem out of place, wouldn't it?

I'm no Hebrew, Yiddish or Judaic scholar but isn't it also true that at least in common parlance, chutzpah usually is used in the context of a positive type of bold, self-confident action, taken in the face of extreme odds?  Dictionary.com tends to attach a more negative connotation to it than my recollection of how I've heard it used most often:: –noun Slang .

1.
unmitigated effrontery or impudence; gall.
2.
audacity; nerve.

Chutzpah - Define Chutzpah at Dictionary.com

I would suggest, however, that even Dictionary.com's more negative definitions don't really embody the absolute monstrousness of this woman's actions and the breathtaking gall behind them, at least in my view.  I've heard 'chutzpah' used almost playfully on occasion, and that hardly seems fitting.

A 'roundhouse kick in the teeth', a wholesale disregard and a gleeful antagonism toward vulnerable, grieving families and an enthusiastic, opportunistic rejection of the most basic decencies of a civilized society are how her actions strike me.

I'm thinking that Islam is bringing such absolute evil to our society that we may need to change our language in order to accurately describe its viciousness.  The English language may not be sufficiently vulgar to accurately encompass the vile nature of these spectacularly evil 'people'.
