Gov. Rick Perry has told just about anyone who will listen about his plan to dispatch elite teams of Texas Rangers to the border to do what he says the federal government won't keep Texans safe from encroaching Mexican drug violence.
Just don't ask him for specifics.
While the Ranger Recon initiative has served as a strong rhetorical counterpoint when Perry slams the federal government, details about what the taxpayer-funded teams actually accomplish remain a secret.

One riot, one Ranger.
NO matter how big the myth of the Texas Rangers, the whole border issue has long since exceeded the capabilities and the scope of any law enforcement in this country, local, state or federal.
Until the .gov realizes this is beyond the abilities of LE and sends in the military to repel the invasion it is doomed to fail.
Send THESE Rangers!
Oh yeah lets publish the plan the Rangers have to combat the invasion of our Country so the assholes invading can get the upperhand on them. Is the press in America ALL IDIOTS?

I was going to answer this, but I then realized it was a rhetorical question!

Is Perry running for something this fall?
You are exactly right. Also, here in Texas, the Rangers are an investigatory branch of TXDPS, second to none but they are not a primary fighting force, those days are over.
They do patrol the border country, as all agency LEOs do, under DHS, is anyone worried yet?? Ought to be.
The eyes of the Ranger are upon you.
I hope they’re prepared tp Shoot to Kill. Nothing else seems to work......
When law enforcement encounters these drug smuggling groups led by thugs with automatic weapons the ROE should be no warnings given, shoot first, shoot to kill.
Yeah, Alcalde of Laredo.
I recall that several states out west have Agricultural inspections stations at their borders. Checking for produce and plants that they do not want imported into their land.
Border states should setup Agricultural Inspection Stations along the border.
Won't happen as long as Texas is in the Union. Get free of the union and you can then fight to win and free yourselves from the mexicans.
They’ve got a neat museum in Waco, right on the banks of the Brazos river...
Send this Ranger.
This article was written by a sleazy biased A$$hole Press writer about a sleazy politician who is trying to play both ends in an effort to ensure he gets re-elected. Before this year, he was Mr. States Rights and planning to secure the border whatever it took; then came election time and he decided that we didn’t need a law like AZ passed. Now he’s got this shell game with the Rangers.
So summarizing, he was for securing the borders before he was against securing the borders, until he read some tea leaves that some might sit at home in the election so he decided he would try to stop drug activities along the border which doesn’t offend as many wetbacks as wanting to secure the border.
Sadly, for Texas, he is still slightly better than “don’t show your ID at the polls”, Bill White. To make matters worse, Gov. Goodhair’s likely successor in four years is another GOP jerkoff, David Dewhurst, the Lt. Gov.

Another Rat styled politician (oh, that's right. Good-hair was a Rat before he was a RINO). Trust me. I'm doing something but I just can't tell you, the voter but never the less you can trust me, now. Oh, and never mind my track record on these issues. Just trust me.
