• Black male youths are likely to grow up in single-parent homes. The boys often don't have fathers residing in the home to serve as role models...
• Black males, even as boys, are more likely than other male peers to suffer from stress-induced depression and other physical and mental health problems that may result in homicidal and suicidal behaviors as they mature...
• Black boys are more likely to experience difficulty in school and are less likely to graduate than any other group.
• African American males' socioeconomic status contributes significantly to their likelihood of being arrested and spending time in prison.
• African American males have longer periods of joblessness and lower salaries due to underemployment than men from other demographic groups.

Despite their problems, few programs are designed specifically to help black males, and social workers may not view them as part the families and communities that the workers serve, with the result that black males' individual needs go unaddressed...

There’s a program for Kenyan-born less-than-half-blacks to vacation with the Taliban, get into Harvard, and even become U.S. Senator and POTUS, it’s just not fair to American-born black men.

Black men have no sense of self worth because the mothers of their children can make a better living (financially) from The Welfare State:

John Doe works for a living, has a wife and two kids. He struggles to earn a living. John Doe’s neighbor Latisha Bobshabop has no husband at home, five kids and the government pays for her house, her food, the kids new Nikes...etc. John Doe decides he is doing more harm than good and skips out.

That’s the welfare state for you.

Isn’t it racist if you treat one group just because of the color of their skin?

I can’t remember who it was who referred to black people as children and needed to be treated as such. I think it was Thomas Jefferson or someone during that time. I wish I could remember. Does anyone here know who it was? I’m not trying to sound racist but I have seen times where blacks expected to be treated this way. Pandered to is the word I guess. Not all black people are like this but I have seen lots of them who are. You just cannot be open and honest with some people without a war starting.

Crying time again? The Japanese Americans pulled themselves out of the degradation of the internment camps after WWII. They didn’t spend time on the past but forged a place in our country overcoming all the prejudices and barriers after the war. They did this by working hard and succeeding in post war America. They didn’t rely on the handouts offered by an embarrassed and guilt ridden country.

I think if men and women would be held responsible for their actions or inactions, it would be better, rather than covering up,explaining it away,or medicating it, or paying if off, or excusing it....

we all have our own personal demons.....some are taught to deal with them and others are given a pass....

"boys will be boys" taken to a greater degree.

then again, what would have happened to most of us if we moped around the house, didn't work, or clean up, or study, or obey our parents?....
