Same-sex marriage gains GOP support
The Washington Post ^ | August 27, 2010 | Sandhya Somashekhar

A growing number of Republicans are breaking with the party's traditional stance to publicly state their support for same-sex marriage, a shift strategists say stems as much from demographics as from the renewed focus on economics and the "tea party" movement.

A solid majority of adults younger than 30 - about six in 10 - support the right of gay and lesbian couples to legally wed, according to a Washington Post poll in February.

But even many older Americans and self-identified social conservatives have changed their view on an issue that just six years ago galvanized voters in support of President George W. Bush's reelection.

Gay Republican activists credit the shift to the heightened attention within the GOP base to jobs and the economy, and by a desire among strategists to expand the party's appeal.

And voting for a third party candidate (who also is not perfect, as very few are in this world) who is guaranteed to lose, and will also likely allow a Dem to win, is not a winning tactic.

My thoughts are it's squandering your vote to make a point no one heard. But the opposition loves it. They'll encourage more of it this November. And some will fall for it. Again.

No third party is ever going to get a majority vote. Voting third party is no different than not voting at all.

The real answer is to get conservatives in local positions of power and move them up in the Republican Party. Conservatives CAN take over from the inside. Meanwhile we did manage to get conservatives into this race. We need to be loud and insistent, instead of wasting our precious votes on losing 3rd party candidates and calling it "principles".

I agree. And anything the opposition loves, gives us a clue-by-four!

How much longer do you really think we have as a nation? Do you think we are any better than all other previous nations throughout history GOD has judged for allowing wickedness? One man brought down an army with a sling. He later became a King. One men was sent to preach to a city to try and save it. The man refused and was swallowed into a whale that one man did in fact do what was right afterward and the city spared many more years. What can one mans actions accomplish? You know the answer to that. Through one man sin entered this world and through one man it can be taken away.

I wouldn't use war time as an example. The Book on War was written of GOD and it's tactics. We as a nation ignored that also. Do you think the Gay agenda is just political? It's spiritual and demonic. It is an abomination which brings desolation. Compromising with the enemy is not an option in war. Look in the churches today. Look at how many have fallen away. They are there because not enough people had the guts or will to say no no matter what the cost.

If a DEM wins GOD will handle it same with anyone else. The DEMs have some very evil leaders and so does the GOP. The problem here is we curse the evil ones in the DEM Party and vote for the same thing in the GOP come election time if they win the primary. There is a word for that called hypocrites. Did you know that one of the Co-Founders of The Moral Majority was a registered Democrat?

Look at the number of fallen churches who just in the past 20 years are accepting Gays not just into membership {not the same as forbidding them to attend or not allowing a ministry to them}, allowing them to be the preachers, deacons, teachers, and allowing Gay weddings in the very House Of GOD.

How serious is this sin? It's more serious than likely any other short of the complete rejection of Christ. How do we know? Look at Lot. GOD for Abraham's sake spared him. Yet what did Lot later do? Impregnated his own daughters. For that matter Lot offered his daughters to the queers before Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed. That is how vile the sin is considered.

Now I do believe with all my being that when our hearts are right toward GOD and we act in faith even when reality and odds are against us GOD will prevail. GOD has dealt one on one with every wicked leader since mans time on earth.

However, I also believe that in the US the Constitution Rules, and one may contract for whatever one wishes aside from Slavery.

Marriage is from a religious perspective a contract between man, woman, and God. From a societal perspective it is a contract between man, woman, and society.

There is no Constitutional power to contract that which supersedes God the unalienable nor is there power to force such a contract as society regards destructive and without value upon society.

If homosexuals wish to play house then they can do it on their own dime -society places no value in the absurd and will not be forced to grant privilege, subsidize, or reward it...

I agree that these stories are designed to demoralize Republicans. Also, I think it is funny that they pick people under thirty as if people under thirties are supposed to know anything. ;^D

The wording that they use just creates the illusion that these twenty-somethings are going to keep those same media shaped, peer pressure shaped, leftist school shaped values throughout their lives. But it has been shown many times, that people tend to become more conservative as they mature, especially as they take on responsibilities like families. It takes time for people to wise up especially today because of the schools’ leftist indoctrination, the liberal media and the youth peer group which is shaped by the liberal media.

Watch, as people have more of this gay/bisexual/lesbian/cross dressing/transsexual —to be continued agenda, people will want to vomit this sicko agenda. There have been whole books devoted to the many types of sexual perversions, wait till they all start organizing and demanding their ‘rights”.

Here is a question for gay marriage supporters—what about bisexuals, isn't it unfair to them to have to chose between one sex or the other? Will they be next to demand their “rights” to “marry” two people that they “love”.

I am pretty confident that people will stay awake or we wouldn’t be hearing this term “RINO”. People evented the term RINO because they could tell that there was a difference between Republicans of principle an those who were just in it for themselves. The American people have been lied to by some really slick manipulators for a really long time and now they are waking up. Millions of people realize that it is about deception—deception is what has been slowly killing this country.

Yes but if conservatives get in office in 2010, voters may believe the problem is solved. I could be wrong as Bam will still be in the Whitey House. That may scare voters enough to keep watch. But not everyone is as political as we are.
