Let’s see if Michelle Obama gets the Nancy Reagan treatment.
This is going to go over well in middle America—just when they were trying to revamp the image of Michelle Antoinette. This will again make them the butt of jokes on late night television and all over the place.
Jane Q Public here ... when I am busting my hump at the factor, open my paycheck on Friday and see the amount the government took from my pay ... oh, yes, I am SO glad that the beautiful, historic, luxurious White House needed to be redecorated.
My house needs painted. My house needs new drapes b/c of some mishaps with the cat, Christmas tree and hot chocolate; after 20 years of marriage to a farmer resulting in three rambunctious children ... new carpet would be nice.
But, no. Barack and Michelle, you lovely RICH peeps from Chicago, you first. Please. And please, let me pay for it. Poor farmers from fly-over country just love an opportunity to show their love and support.

Judging from her style in clothing, I shudder to think of what will be done to the decor. Class is not easy to fake.
Barry can’t stop spending. While he is frittering away as much money as possible during his four month tour of luxury resorts, he has teams of designers squandering countless millions installing golden fixtures in the White House. He’s like old school European Royalty.

Thank you for the great site! The changes should really give a fresh up to date look to our house. I hope that when everything is complete that the then President, whoever he or she may be :), will give a televised tour so we can see the finished product. I think that Jackie Kennedy did something of that nature back in the day. Of course color TV was a rarity in those days, at least in my house, so her tour didn’t have quite the impact of the one that will be conducted in the (projected year) 2014.
