Grass Roots: The president says he didn't watch any of Glenn Beck's "Restore Honor" rally on the National Mall. That's not surprising. Democrats and the White House haven't been listening to the people for awhile.
Whistling past the political graveyard looming for his party in November, President Obama dismissed the crowd gathered to hear the Fox News pundit, telling Brian Williams of the NBC Nightly News, "It's not surprising that someone like a Mr. Beck is able to stir up a certain portion of (the American people) ... "
He dismissed this crowd just as he and his party dismissed the "angry mobs" that descended on health care town meetings wanting to know why their government no longer wanted to hear their voices or seek out the consent of the governed. Those people were also said to have been "stirred up" by political opponents and conservative talk radio.
This genuine grass-roots movement was dismissed as "astroturfing" by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and others. But their anger did not have to be manufactured. It was a quite natural response to a government that is bankrupting their children and grandchildren as it spends money we don't have on things that don't work.
"Mr. Beck" didn't manufacture the people on the Mall. He merely has given them a voice and a focal point, and a reminder that we are endowed with inalienable rights from a higher authority than any gaggle of senators and representatives. "We the people" assembled on the Mall, not an angry mob stirred up by rabble-rousers.

O’Reilly devoted much of his show to Beck and the rally tonight and was very supportive.
Obama couldn’t watch - he was on vacation again. Meanwhile, he’s having new drapes/carpet installed back at our White House

It might be territorial, I get the feeling from Mark Levin that he was talking about this stuff along time ago and those who discuss it now are trying to “one-up” his material. I’ve learned more about our history from Beck’s show than anywhere else...but we need all of them on the same “big” page. Ignoring 500,000 to 800,000 people because they don’t approve of Beck is not a wise move.
Laura Ingraham had the integrity and courage to mention Glenn’s rally several times. Laura and Glenn also have each other on to promote the other’s books, as true friends would.
Some radio personalities like Hannity, and you too Mark Levin (yeah I said it!), tend to get really petty about this stuff and it does nothing more than divide and give aid and comfort to our common enemy: Statists.

They should be adult enough to at least PRETEND to like each other.
10:30AM The President meets with senior advisors
11:00AM The President receives the Presidential Daily Briefing
12:05PM The President receives the Economic Daily Briefing
12:30PM The President delivers a statement to the press
2:00PM Briefing by Press Secretary Robert Gibbs
In other words the lazy arrogant pos only worked 2 hours today (I was counting from 10:30AM to 12:30PM
So what? Hannity probably had his program already scheduled, and btw, Hannity had Glenn Beck as a guest a few days before the Rally
Jealousy will help nobody.
Because he was talking about a different subject, that does not mean he will not talk about the Rally at all. For all we know he might talk about it tomorrow

Michael Savage enthusiastically gave his first hour to praise of Beck and the “million” who went to Washington.
He waited until the second hour to criticize Beck for not supporting him over being banned in Britain.
He had Michele Bachmann on and hammered 0 for ignoring the million in Washington. Scathing to the vermin in the media.
Hannity...nothing. Is it the professional jealousy or the Saudi Arabian FOX investors?
It was just another day of ignoring everyone outside his inner circle.
He's part of the establishment. He lives in the right-versus-left paradigm, rather than the right-versus-wrong world everyone else resides in.
“Im pretty sure that the TV personalities at Fox are under orders to tread very carefully here, because the line between political endorsement and broadcast news could get very murky. This is sort of uncharted territory.”
FNC was very roundly criticized for reporting on the 9-12 rally. I feel sure that they went all out to make sure they weren’t “roundly” criticized again...hence the lack of information...i.e. reporting...on Beck’s latest effort.
I thnk they are cowards in that respect...
Well...Obama did say he can’t go around with a birth certficate on his forehead.
I would be happy with one in hand...
God bless Glenn, is right!
