Crowd Shows Up To Get Assistance With Energy Bills (Lazy people upset in Cincinnati)
WKRC ^ | 31 Aug 2010 | WKRC

Time is running out for people in need to get help paying their summer utility bill. Today is the deadline to apply for aid through the county.

Before 10 a.m., the Community Action Agency let 230 people in to apply. Some lined up before the sun came up this morning at the agency's office in Bond Hill. Applicants can get up to $175 to pay their utility bill, an air conditioner or a fan .. or a combination of benefits.

Some in the line were upset that they couldn't get in or were turned away. But, those in charge of the program say they've had more people apply for help in the last two years than in the history of the program.

Rennia Baird told Local 12, "I came here yesterday but I got turned away. I was the last people and they did the cut off so I go here an hour early this morning."

Robin Avant of the Home Energy Assistance Program says "Unfortunately we have a lot of people that wait until the very last day and we can only take so many people."

Since July, more than 4,100 people have received assistance. This program is funded by the State of Ohio.

I wonder if the media noticed this was a ‘predominantly black’ gathering

When Beck was asked what he meant by reclaiming the civil rights movement, I wish he had been more clear:

The civil rights movement must be reclaimed by ALL Americans because it was meant to champion equal opportunity and individual liberty.

Instead, after 40 years of Rat racemongering, the "civil rights movement" is now nothing more than a crass, cruel and truly oppressive political agenda that consists of Rat talking points for the Plantation otherwise known as the Welfare State.

The goal of the Chris Matthews/Al Sharpton version of the "civil rights movement" is only this: MORE GOVERNMENT HANDOUTS, MORE GOVERNMENT DEPENDENCY, MORE GENERATIONAL POVERTY. And more pictures of Americans looking like the crowds shoving each other around a U.N. humanitarian aid truck, waiting desperately for a bag of rice.

For Pete's sake, these are Americans! Start acting like it, maybe? And I direct that last comment to my fellow Americans as well as the GOVERNMENT.

I would never do it, but anyone who has ever opened a bill from Duke Energy probably wishes they could. LOL!

I can’t find the link right now, but Walter Williams has proposed that all Americans be entitled to one vote, but that those who pay taxes get a second vote as well.

Sounds radical. Sounds reasonable.

Also, one vote for owning your own home.
One vote for military/first responder service.

And one vote if your family arrived in the 1600's, and one vote if your forefathers fought in the Revolutionary war, and one vote if your forefathers...

This is fun...

Regardless of whether these are “lazy people” or the growing number of truly needy, this is a result of the Obama Utopian society.

It appears that there is truly a need for diet modification and exercise.

The wookie doesn't like it much. I'm just trying to get myself appointed gauleiter of avoirdupois for the Northeast region. You can handle unpopular opinion. We'll work together.

Has the media reported that this is an “overwhelmingly black crowd”?”

Not now-=-not ever.

They will never admit that 50++ years of welfare & food stamps has been a failure of responsibility on the part of the recipients.

Surely the next thing some of these people need is new mattresses & couches because the old ones cannot support that much weight anymore.

It’s too bad the left loves to support the lazy people and use the truly needy as cover.

Nah. No crime, after all being fat is about the only way you can take it with you.

That said, America has the fattest 'poor people' in the world. Some of them will still be living off the taxpayer months after the handouts stop.
