Move the mosque!
Seven in ten New Yorkers say the proposed mosque/Islamic community center near Ground Zero should be relocated because of opposition from 9/11 families — and an equal number want state Attorney General Andrew Cuomo to probe the group’s finances, a new statewide poll released today found.
“Overwhelmingly — across party and regional lines — New Yorkers say the sponsors ought to voluntarily move the proposed mosque to another location,” said Maurice Carroll, director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.
The survey of 1,497 of New York residents found:
* 54 percent agree that “freedom of religion” gives Muslims the legal right to build the mosque on Park Place, while 40 percent disagreed and the rest were undecided.
* But 53 percent also said Muslim developers should not be allowed to build the mosque near the World Trade Center site in deference to sensitivities of 9/11 relatives, with 39 percent opposed and the rest undecided.

Well the wants of 7 out of 10 NYers is no match for the desires of 7 out of 10 Saudis. Look, when you are a broke state, you really aren’t in the drivers seat anymore. When will the NYers get that? Those silly NYers, they act like they own the place or something.
Having said that, turnabout is fair play. Someone should buy the building across the street from the mosque and open a barbecue restaurant. Maybe a Honeybacked Ham shop as well. Because after all, they have every legal right to do so. And if the presence of pork offends the Muslim sensibilities, well, there are no Constitutional protections against being offended, are there?

Leftists are privately scared of “the religion of peace”. That’s what’s really going on here. The idea of building the mosque at Ground Zero is really to create much attention (both positive attention and negative attention) towards just the idea of a Ground Zero mosque, while, also, redirecting all of Obama’s troubles, all of the Democrats problems, and all RINO problems away from many people’s minds. Leftists love any and all distractions from their ongoing and worsening problems.

I have followed this with mixed feeling....we have this thingie called the constitution and bill of rights, and in it is the peskie amendment, the first one...If seven out of ten new yorkers disagree with this, and if the nation disagrees with this, why not send in money and buy the damn land? I guess that to many people want to have the feds impose a law ( making those who want this law imposed at the best anti-constitutionalist, at the most socialist communists) c’mon........send in donations and buy the property...

Most people do not recognize that what happens in a mosque is sedition. Pure and simple. Islam is not just a “religion”, it is a cult. Larger than that though, it is a political system, it is it’s own government, a economic system (which includes funding new mosque construction), its judicial...all wrapped up in the word sharia. This is inclusive of its military (jihadis) all rolled into one with one intent ...and that is to rule wherever they take root. It is a invasive, systemic infection looking to take over the host once it has quantum.
This is not just a “religion”, but something that cloaks itself in those terms so it should not be given the same treatment contemplated under the first amendment. The Korans Sharia rules are to consume whatever government there is wherever it goes.
Islam is political, and it’s goal is to supplant and replace. Globally.

After viewing the two, reconcile our observations.

Sharia is contrary to America, its rights , freedoms , liberty and democracy.
Could you please point to the place in the Constitution that states that the Will of the Majority can override what is outlined in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights?
And if you believe that, do you also believe that if the majority favor gun control that a city, county or state can ban the gun ownership despite the 2nd Amendment?
However this is NOT about Congress on the Federal level. This is a local government issue and the people have a right to decide the issue of a mosque being built in their community. Businesses have a right to operate but they have to abide by local zoning laws as well.
