President Obama calls former President George W. Bush ahead of iraq speech

President Barack Obama called former President George W. Bush Tuesday hours before he was set to deliver an Oval Office speech on the drawdown of U.S. troops from Iraq, the White House said.

Obama made the call aboard Air Force One on his way to Ft. Bliss, Tex., where he will visit U.S. troops.

White House Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton said the “private” call lasted “a few minutes,” but declined to give further detail.

Obama telephoned Bush in February 2009 before announcing his plans for withdrawing troops from Iraq.

If I didn't have the Lord, I would really be afraid about the future because of this punk boy king. But I know he will pay for his sins and his crimes in the end, and that keeps me going.

BTW, do you remember the 2nd to last picture in my post #142? It was taken 11-05 in Alaska when President Bush addressed the Troops before going to Osan Air Base in S. Korea. We all discussed the intensity of that young soldiers gaze on the Dose, IIRC.

I just looked at your post and saw that amazing photo again.

It says SO much about how the troops felt about their Commander in Chief (when they had a CinC!).

The look on that young soldiers face is almost one of adoration.

Oh........and we just drove that van to DC (to help son move there), and we got a BIG thumbs up from a driver passing us.

You have that just exactly right! When I'm feeling down I go through my picture files and recall better days. I have many of our wounded warriors at the White House or other meetings with OUR President that they sent me. *sigh*

I'm so glad that OUR President.........our troop's President........is still involved in their lives.

That video of his greeting the troops coming home at DFW was a tear-jerker.

The men and women in uniform know. They know that President Bush respects and cares for them, and that the Marxist Punk Pretender doesn't care if they live or die.
