ASAP, Murkowski campaign needs to put a call into King county Washington officials to find out how to come up with more votes.

Will she have the class that Karen Handel had when she quit for the good of the party?

More likely to find them in Prince William Sound if they follow Washington’s lead.

Let’s hope none of the other small parties are dumb enough to put her on the ballot, or that she has the slightest bit of class left and lets it go.

Michael Steele's help to Lisa notwithstanding...

When did he get involved?

Yep Yep. I said this on the first election results night thread with only 20% of the vote in.

TRENDS do not change. That is when they are called trends.

Sampling is accurate.

Trust, but verify.

Welcome to the hunt for Red November, Soon to be Senator Joe Miller.

“next steps” doesn’t sound like a concession to me but I hope she does concede. The ‘ruling class’ won’t let go easily.

Sources have also revealed that the Murkowski campaign is scheduling a conference call this afternoon (Alaska time) with her entire campaign team to discuss next steps

It's ridiculous. If she loses, she loses. If she didn't want to be the Republican nominee then why did she participate in the primary? You can't blame her for being upset for losing the race - that's only human. However, that's what happens sometimes as other people can choose to run for the same seat. If he was a child molester or something and got the nomination by some fluke that would be another matter for her to pursue this route...but otherwise, this is pure selfishness and ego thinking she's simply entitled to the seat. It's even more ridiculous since she isn't so old she couldn't make a political comeback at some point for another office (like again Begich in a few years) and she was highly popular overall...but with these kinds of tactics she will go out looking like something altogether different - vindictive. It's sad.

The Libertarians have already said NO to her and for that matter, a lot of them like Joe.

Are you certain they said no?

I know it doesn't make sense for them philosophically, but then who ever said they made sense anyway?

Murko $$$ can help them a lot.......

in Alska, there are rules regarding write in votes

To be recognized as a write-in candidate for the 2008 General Election, write-in candidates must file with the Division of Elections a Letter of Intent form. Write-in votes will not be counted unless the Letter of Intent has been filed. (AS 15.25.105)

A write-in vote is the writing in of the candidate’s name with the oval filled in next to the name. A blank space is provided for each race on the General Election ballot for this purpose. To be a valid write-in vote, the voter must write in the name as it appears on the Write-in Candidate’s Letter of Intent or write in the last name of the candidate. Either way, the voter must mark the oval next to the candidate’s name for the vote to be counted.

...................

So to be valid, she has to get the person to tick the ballot and also write the name perfectly correctly from what i understand to be free from legal challenge. Most people can’t be bothered and i bet you most ordinary voters can’t spell Murkowski if they tried.

That’s the beauty of the recount. More time for shennanigans. It’s deplorable what with the rabid lust for public power in this country today.
