Police: Attacker threw acid in Vancouver woman's face [UPDATE: False Report/Self-Inflicted Attack]

VANCOUVER, Wash. – A bizarre attack sent a Vancouver woman to the hospital on Monday and police said they believe her attacker threw some kind of acid in her face.

Bethany Storro had no idea who the woman was who attacked her and no idea why someone picked her for an attack.

Storro, 28, doesn’t usually wear sunglasses but she bought a pair about an hour before the attack. Those glasses may have saved her eyesight.

She had stopped to get a coffee at a Starbucks near Esther Short Park at 8th and Columbia and was getting something out of her car when a woman came up and asked her if she wanted a drink.

Storro decline and that’s when she was hit with a cup of some sort of acid, burning her face and clothes.

Her family says she’s stable and is keeping a positive attitude. They say they are trying to make some sense of what happened.

“Who wakes up in the morning and says, ‘I’m going to go and burn somebody’s face with acid?’” said Storro’s mother, Nancy Neuwelt. “It’s
pretty bizarre. I don’t know what kind of a person - obviously, there’s something wrong. But we’re going to do what we need to do.”

Police don’t have any suspects.

The incident happened just after 7 p.m. Monday night, and police are hoping someone who was in the area at the time may remember seeing what happened and call them with a tip.

Storro is recovering at the burn center at Legacy Emanuel Hospital.

What she was wearing at the time of the attack might give a clue. If she was dressed in ways the Muslim fanatics find offensive, it could be why she was selected as a target.

The attacker spoke to the victim first- Hey pretty lady do you want to drink this?

There could be a Starbucks connection. Or as someone said, gangs. Acid-throwing happens in the UK, too, but usually not in the face.

I doubt a recent Muslim convert would be wearing shorts, with no head cover at all. I understand the authorization to lie for Islam, the need to hide identity, but somehow this does not seem to me to be a shari’a crazed attacker.

Do we know if it’s acid or alkali? It dissolved her shirt, hinting at acid, plus, action was very fast, also hinting at acid. It would be nice to know what her shirt was made of. NaOH and KOH don’t eat polyester.

Then why didn’t the woman throw the acid on the husband if that was the case. It is a black on white crime, simple as that and very obvious. These crimes have been increasing steadily since Bozo took office, or do you think when a bunch of people go around shouting “it’s beat whitey night” or a group of blacks go around randomly sucker punching whites that maybe these people’s spouses had something to do with it?

I suspect a recent divorce. Combining the mom’s last name and victim’s first name leads to a Bethany Neuwelt who graduated from a private Christian school in Idaho, Class of 2000. The mom said Bethany moved to Vancouver “for a fresh start”.

The mom works in a Vancouver Christian church. I think the victim’s dad is a physician, but that’s not clear.

I don’t see any strange links or associations here. This is probably a “random attack”, a term I dislike because it is not random from the perp’s viewpoint at all.

Had coffee there many times. There is a sort of hotel shelter for all sorts of mentally challenged folks about 6 or 7 blocks from there. I would look there first.

What a dork. I have no hate for black people but I can read statistics and keep track of what crimes are being committed in this country and by whom. Black on white crime is rising and being condoned via Holder and his DOJ and Bozo the WH clown. BTW, you are a little late with your comment on this article, since this article was posted it has been revealed that the woman poured acid on herself for some sick reason or other. However, the woman who was doused in Arizona by a copy cat was doused by a black woman.

The hate some blacks(not all blacks but enough to make it a big problem)have for whites is akin, part and parcel, to the hate muslims have for all infidels.

SNIPPET: “VANCOUVER — An investigation indicated that the reported acid attack on Bethany Storro was self-inflicted, Vancouver Police said Thursday.

They called the incident a hoax during a press conference. They said the results of the investigation will now be turned over to the county prosecutor’s office.

Chief Clifford Cook said discrepancies started to appear as detectives started to investigate the case.

This morning, police served a search warrant, then interviewed Storro, who said the attack was a self-inflicted hoax.”
