President Obama is unlikely to face a Democratic foe in 2012 primary

WASHINGTON - The Democratic left still smarts over President Obama's failure to deliver on some of its key issues, but has made no serious move to challenge him in 2012.

Even the loudest critics among them think putting up a primary candidate would just split the party and strengthen the Republican who runs against him or her.

"There is beginning to be some chatter about running a candidate from the left, but nobody wants to think that way," said Peter Daou, a liberal blogger and ex-digital media adviser to Hillary Clinton's campaign.

The left's grievance list is long. They believe Obama is infatuated with centrist, independent voters at the expense of the liberal agenda. Many want U.S. forces out of Afghanistan.

Still, there's no groundswell for a Howard Dean-like Democrat to rise up and challenge Obama.

"I certainly wouldn't advocate that. I'd rather the White House right this ship," Daou said.

UCLA pollster Lynn Vavreck doubts the left will rebel because ultimately liberals "want to win elections," while dissident GOP Tea Party activists "care more about making a point."

Liberals still fume over what they consider a lame attempt by Obama to win approval of a government health care plan known as the public option.

Lets us all encourage Hillary to enter the race.

Be careful what you wish for. Remember how Rush's "Operation Chaos" worked so well?

We can’t stand any more “fun”. What we need are serious people running Washington. The fun and games have to stop and these people need to get down to the business of running this country, not trying to control its people.

I won’t be surprised if he doesn’t even run in 2012. Especially if he has to produce his birth certificate.

He will not run in 2012, he cannot produce a BC.

Possibly. It is also possible that those who created him will find a use for him as a dynamically extinguished flame, who gave all in the service of “progress”.

If he is still around, and if he wants the job, no one will be able to challenge him in the primary, and win, without totally disaffecting the black vote which the Democrats MUST have on board in the general.

The theory I find most plausible is that he is auditioning for UN Secretary General. Nearly as plausible is that he is so delusional that he truly thinks this is just a rough patch, and that he will prevail, in the manner of Clinton’s re-election against the palooka Bob Dole.

“They believe obama is infatuated with centrist, independent voters at the expense of the liberal agenda.”

They also believe in the Tooth Fairy, The Easter Bunny and Puff The Magic Dragon (No, not the military version....).

Because the Democrats are stuck in an unbreakable dilemma. Ether support 0 or lose the racial minority support that is the only thing that keeps them from being a minor party. If Democrats lose the bulk of the black vote they may as well not even run a candidate in 2012

Exactly. The Hillary ‘challenge’ is moonshine.

This is because he doesn’t plan to run for President again. He has set his sights on Emperor of the Universe.

That’s right. And 0bama and his thugs will burn the house (the United States) down before they surrender it.

To me, the Dems need to re-take Econ 101 to learn how capitalism works, study up on how cruel dictatorships are (and how America mostly tries to overthrow these tyrannies because we’re decent people at heart), and finally, how to balance a check book.

*******************

The Democrats do know these things. These things are irrelevant to what they seek.

If a non-African-American were to defeat 0bama in the Democratic primary, then many African-Americans would vote Republican (or stay at home) for the general election. This would almost certainly guarantee a Republican victory.

Some Imam in Pakistan has offered 0bama the Islamic Caliphate.

Clinton’s re-election & Bob Dole?

Only an totally inept GOP leadership would have chosen Dole. And with that, with the help of the MSM and with Clinton’s engineered distractions was it possible.

The real battle is against Washington insiders and “we the people”. It comes clearer in focus each passing day.

The only solution that will work is for “we the people” to take control of the GOP and clean that house. Then DownSize DC! Clean out the scum that are destroying the nation by eliminating the functions they have acquired. Can you imagine the squeals to that prospect.

It will be a long trudge, but it must start now.

Many Secretaries of State will demand one this time.

That is exactly what I'm thinking. He knows he could-not and cannot kill or quell the BC controversy well enough. Once one State requires his full ID, others will too. He won't be able to ignore it. He can't or won't produce it. So, from about his 2nd or 3rd month in office on, he's known he'll be a one-term President, that he won't even run again. I think that is part of his "hurry up offense" Presidency, moving from issue to issue, crisis to crisis like a petulant 5 year old with ADHD. He and his cohorts in crime are pushing their agenda forward on many fronts.

I’m really liking the image of a Gay Mosque. I think we should promote it. It ought to keep a bunch of folk with dubious intentions occupied for a while.

I doubt Obama will run. He will retire undefeated claiming his progressive surge worked. He will state he has set the agenda for the future, energy change, less foreign war involvement and government as the economic engine. He will turn the job over to Mrs. Clinton.

He and his cohorts in crime

What is the statute of limitation of election fraud? When he is out of power how deep will the inquiries go? We shall see. And the public deserves a complete explanation of this treasonous fraud.

Why should he expect a democrat when only an open socialist can hold a candle to him?

At least one state, maybe more and I can't remember which, has passed a law that all presidential contenders must show a valid birth certificates to be on that states ballot. That's all it takes, just one where Obama can't be on the ballot.
