VA, ATF say no guns for Iraq war vet
Gun Rights Examiner ^ | September 5, 2010 | David Codrea

"Iraq Veteran Stripped of Right To Bear Arms," 5 News Ft Smith-Fayetteville tells us.

Why?

"A year ago the Irelan's began receiving a small stipend from Veterans Affairs because Lana had to take over the family's finances...The V.A. declared Wayne Irelan incompetent and now his right to own a gun is gone."

Why would they do that, and what are the repercussions?

"Irelan has post traumatic stress disorder from the Iraq war, but his wife says he has never been violent...The couple didn't know Wayne's gun rights had been terminated until they went to get a gun out of pawn. Days later Wayne got a letter from the Arkansas State Police saying his concealed carry permit had been revoked. The ATF has told the Irelans that they could go to jail if a firearm is found in their home."

How did such a state of affairs come to be?

Why don't we ask that "gun lobby" we're told never compromises?

This was all predicted before the NICS “Improvement” act got passed the NRA called those of us who were predicting it paranoid. This was the final straw that removed the NRA rose colored glasses from my eyes.

Gun control is gun control. With groups like the NRA who needs the Brady bunch?

Yeah, so because she is married to someone who has supposedly lost his rights, she has no rights?

Ahh, the American hating, Constitution violating, criminal dirt-bags at the BATFE... If we are able to restore the constitutional foundations of our country, the scumbag A-wipes at the ATF need to be the first to go, as they are all Oath-Breakers!

I'm a bit confused -- Arkansas Concealed weapons permits qualify as a Brady alternative - meaning - there would be no phone call to NICS.

If he had the permit, then why was the transfer denied? Furthermore, the ATF forms remain with the Store of purchase.

Like I said, I'm confused... He walks up and picks out a firearm, hands over his permit and drivers license, the paperwork is completed, he leaves.

Unless, his wife tried to purchase the firearm, then the scent hounds could have followed their trail..

You know, I've had many words with the NRA concerning their unkind nature and behavior. They have become just as big of a problem as the libtards themselves.

They "remained silent" on the Lautenberg amendment. They demanded the NICS system, which denies Americans their Second Amend rights for nothing other than traffic violations. It's even more sickening when THEY/NICS make mistakes - it's the American that is guilty until proven innocent.

This is all senseless anyhow. Federal Gun laws are, and should be, Unconstitutional! The Commerce clause does not supersede the Bill of Rights or the Rights retained by the States.
