The Obama Heyday Is Over
The Wall Street Journal ^ | 09-10-10 | KIMBERLEY A. STRASSEL

Barack Obama hit the campaign trail this week to resurrect some of that hopey-changey stuff and to complain that his critics talk about him "like a dog." Turns out the president wasn't, in fact, referring to his own party.

Voters might be forgiven the confusion. It isn't as if Democrats have been showing Mr. Obama much love. Quite the opposite. Seven weeks from Election Day, the vulnerable wing of the majority has finally found itself a campaign issue: blunt opposition to Mr. Obama and his agenda.

Has it only been 20 months? Candidate Obama swelled into office with an ambitiously liberal plab. He promised his party that his legislative items would be more than policy triumphs; they'd be political triumphs. Stick with me, he said, and we'll get credit for leadership. Voters will come to love this stuff. Polls will improve. I'll campaign in your district.

Plab?

Do we have a new word for FReepers?
Plab, - an agenda to do something that is covert, and misleading in order to destroy what exists.

Martin Luther King said "I have a dream."
Obama and the Dems say they have a "plab" to fix the country and give Americans hope and change.

Barry is like a television child star. The Nation was fascinated with him for a brief time as they were with Gary Coleman, Danny Bonaduce etc., but then quickly grew tired of him. He simply does not know what he’s doing. He just keeps rubberstamping big ticket thousand page bills that he doesn’t even bother to read. He will not age well and history will look on him as a very expensive dud of a President.

My prediction is Obama will leave the US sometime in the next 5 years and take up residence overseas.

Obamacare really hurt him, really bad.

This tells us nobody who has tried a state version of Obamacare could ever have viability for the presidency.

Funny how those plabs can cause problems in teh long run.

Isn't it, though?

I found humor in letting that one go unedited.

I kind of figured. When I saw there were no replies I had to acknowledge your wit. :+)

Let’s face it. Barack Hussein Obama is now the worst President since James Earl Carter—and Carter by early fall 1980 had already put in motion two things that would really help the USA: lifting price controls on petroleum and de-regulating the railroads, both of which proved critical during the Reagan years because the price of crude oil nosedived after 1982 and the Staggers Act allowed the railroads to better compete against other forms of ground transportation.

Exactly!

"Fargin' Icehole Bastidges!"

FIB, baby! The rallying cry of a nation steeped in homegrown politeness, righteous outrage, and unwilling to just bury their heads and take yet another one up the aching crapper from our disdainful, arrogant, overpaid employees any more.

FIB, baby.

"Fargin' Icehole Bastidges!"

Thank God for the sake of our country!!!

As many have said on TV if Obama were as passionate about our economy as he is his islam faith and literally defending terrorists as a lawyer we would not be suffering a depression.

I had lunch with an uber-lib yesterday and I noticed the magnetic Obama sticker was missing from the car. As a matter of fact, I just spent a week with an uber-lefty relative (including two 9 hour drives) and crickets were chirping.

To those of us Freepers who live in the Northeast, it is a bit fun to watch the decline of the emperor.

Until conservatives become radical republicans who launch a search and destroy operation against the socialist parasites in all major institutions of this country, they are doomed to defeat after defeat.

My prediction is that Obama will be impeached, removed from office, and tried by a federal court for treason.

BO is a complete nutcase. His psychological disorder is what is frightening and to think of the power he wields is beyond belief. His father, if such can be proven, spent next to no time with BO and BO follows him like a dog that has his head kicked to the curb.
This is a quote from an excellent article by Dinesh D’Souza

“Incredibly, the U.S. is being ruled according to the dreams of a Luo tribesman of the 1950s. This philandering, inebriated African socialist, who raged against the world for denying him the realization of his anticolonial ambitions, is now setting the nation’s agenda through the reincarnation of his dreams in his son. The son makes it happen, but he candidly admits he is only living out his father’s dream. The invisible father provides the inspiration, and the son dutifully gets the job done. America today is governed by a ghost.”

I, OTOH, the Republicans just carry on with business as usual, that may well infuriate the Tea Parties to the extent that they form another party. Think WHIG.

Just so. Conservatives cannot win by going the third party route, but they can form a new Second Party, if the Republican Party chooses to destroy itself.

History tells us that the Republicans did not simply oust the Whigs. Rather, the Whigs destroyed themselves, and the Republicans took their place. After 150 years of history, the Republicans may be on the verge of destroying themselves. They have very, very little time to wake up and smell the roses--i.e., notice reality.

Wasn’t that a hoot.

I think 2008 woke a lot of people up to the fact that there wasn’t anyone representing Conservatism any longer.

Neither party’s leadership was...
