The Ground Zero Victory Mosque would be a non-tax generating building.

If Trump puts a hotel there, then that business would generate all SORTS of taxes for New York City and state: payroll taxes, business operating taxes, food and beverage taxes, hotel room taxes, taxi cab taxes, taxety-tax-tax taxes, you name it. (Giggle)

A further argument could be made that the Ground Zero Victory Mosque would dampen development in the neighborhood, while a hotel would draw new businesses there, resulting in even more revenue for the city and state at that location.
