Sarah, Duchess of York, who has a remarkable ability to bounce back from tabloid scandals, has been offered an intriguing new lifeline.
Mandrake can disclose that Fergie is in negotiations with Oprah Winfrey about making a six-part television series for the American chat show host's channel, documenting how she was "abandoned" as a teenager by her mother and the "devastating" effect that this had on her life.

Oprah must be a secret Royals fan. She’s trying to save them from any more indiscreet money-grubbing on Sarah’s part.
Sarah’s pretty good at this sort of thing and will probably turn in a decent performance.
But if previous behavior is any indication, she’ll be in money trouble again in a few.
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh T.V.
A couple months ago we heard Oprah was going to set her up on her own talk show on the Oprah channel. What gives?
maybe she should run for congress. she would fit right in with the elite dc ne corridor ruling class. they all act like they are royalty.
I'd rather watch a vomiting contest than hear anything she has to say.
Hey Oprah, she really adds class to your new network. Low class! If this is an indication of your programming, then a child block is in order on my TV.
The world is so over-cluttered with these sob-story loving liberals.
I could never understand who watches Oprah. She is a talentless slug. Thoroughly uninteresting and boring.Yet has amassed a fortune.
She's not saving the Royals. The Queen exlimpfies proper Royal behavior. She'd never appear on Oprah — she has no use for sob sisters. True Royals keep their upper lip stiff. The sniveling behaviour of Fergie (and Diana, before that) has done great damage to the monarchy.
(I realize that the U.S. fought a revolution, to create a republic -- so this Tory doesn't expect much sympathy on this forum. Just try to understand that the Queen symbolizes our (Britain, Canada, Australia, etc.) nation. Under our modern constitutional monarchies, the Queen is not a ruler -- Parliament is supreme. So long as the Royals behave like our present Queen, I want them around. If they start behaving like Fergie -- then I have no more use for them.)
A massive double star swirling mass.
That’s what I was saying; Oprah wants to bail out Sarah Ferguson so she doesn’t get involved in any more dodgy money-making schemes and attract any more undue attention. Didn’t she get into trouble recently by trying to sell access?
Any way Fergie can’t be much worse than the now thoroughly delusional Charles swanning about spouting barmy eco-loony and new-agey statements like a crazy hippie aunt.
Oh, m’god, that’s it!
Michelle has barred Oprah from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Oprah’s doing the next best thing and getting herself a new pet. She’s gonna buy herself a Royal.
Think of the bright side. Oprah can only help her brand recover if she stays the hell out of politics. With Oprah managing her business affairs, Fergie will get back on her feet and stay out of trouble.
The Queen seems like a nice lady, smart, and educated about matters etc. Charles seems to have grown up a bit even if mommy does have him by the balls and lacks a spine. The rest of them are jokes.
I'm baffled. One of the most lucrative careers seems to be "personality". These are people who have no talents, no ethics, and no experience. They work on reality shows, talk about themselves on late night TV, get to be hosts and hostesses of things, and get their pictures taken a lot. Fergie's worse than most of them....she's just so sleazy.
She’s a social climber like all celebrities. Hate the establishment until they get to be a part of it.
And it’s perfect for her. She’ll get to have her very own pet princess.
Those two are made for each other.
Not if HM strips her of her courtesy title. Then she’ll be a no one. Before marriage she was a ‘second tier’ sloane and a poor version of Diana. Not even a ‘Lady’ title to her name. I don’t see her being welcome if she loses her courtesy title. She already lost her official one.
