Raw Story has gotten a hold of a memo closeted Governor Crist plans to release this week. The document announces support for a variety of issues related to the LGBT community.
The document provided to RawStory.com includes Crist's vocal support for gay couples, including hospital visitation, inheritance and adoption rights; opposition to the ban on gays serving in the military; support for anti-discrimination laws and appropriations for HIV and AIDS programs.
"It's great to hear a sitting governor take such a strong stand on equality issues," Nadine Smith, Director of Equality Florida, told RawStory.com by telephone Sunday night. "This is the first time in Florida's history that a sitting governor has taken these public positions on a wide range of LGBT equality issues. It marks a shift in the debate in our state."
"For us, having the governor of Florida articulate so clearly stands that are in support of equality on a wide range of issues is a new day," Smith added. A representative of Crist's campaign could not immediately be reached for comment.

This is beyond the pale. More pushing of the homosexual agenda and trying to make deviancy appear normal. The inmates are truly trying to run the asylum. I hope Crist states this stand before the election and he loses. No matter how often We the People say "NO" politicians and judges keep pushing.

bring it on Crist, in this state we had only one county which went for homosexual marriage(not gay) and that was close but it was no surprise it is a small county way down in the keys. Overwhelmingly this state said no to the homosexual agenda. This is what I don't get. These far left fringe radicals and idiots like many in the GOP, Rat party media etc all talk, live, converse, party etc in their circles. They have no idea what the average working man or woman wants until an election. Now come an election the votes always go against the homosexuals agenda and yet they still don't get it which just shows how ignorant, stupid and dumb they are. We see churches which have been infiltrated, groups reps etc thinking that if they appease homosexuality then they will become more inclusive. Well they might get two or three extra to the church based on that but you guarantee 10 to 20 will leave based on that. This is why it is important to speak out which the left does not want and stop thinking it is just about marriage. 5 years ago it was just about civil unions now it is about the don't ask, adoption, marriage , teach it in the school to little kids as young as 5 and yes this has been done in MA, CA. Adoption agencies have been closed down due to them, people have been refused a job because of them and their agenda, parents have been threatened because they said they do not want their little kid told of homosexuality . Wake the hell up and stop thinking that because one might have a homosexuals friend that they are all nice and just want to be left alone

Thank you for a no name calling considerate post.
I have a very close relative that had a civil ceremony joined by love.
They are happy a good citizens.
I am a conservative..
It is so nice to have a post without the name calling.
As and add on...Charlie Crist has disappointed me BIG TIME ,not because of “The Gay Rumor” I have heard that rumor for years and I sill voted for him. I believed he was a good man and a conservative.

The harder he tries the be hinder he gets. This creepy POS is going down.

can you explain what you mean square ?
This is my state and when we had the homosexual question on the ballot the voters overwhelmingly went against their agenda and marriage
Now sure where you get this beach area is more liberal
We’re on the beach is our town and we’re on of the most republican conservative areas in this state.
I suggest you look at north east FL, the panhandle, even further down to past merrit island, then on the other side Lee county etc on the south west part is not liberal either.
Crist is losing right now and his numbers are going down much more over weeks too but now this comes out his numbers will take a bigger hit as this state has rejected the homosexual agenda in big numbers and we are only one of just a couple of states which also stops homosexuals from adopting .
Again where do you get this square thing? Normal yes, and they are homosexuals not gay

I meant “square” the way I learnt it as a kid. Straightforward, conventional, honorable, patriotic, solid, maybe even a bit dull...
Did it develop a new meaning over the years?

Im sure there are a few republicans who were hanging on to Crist that might decide against him now that hes come out.
If they get the word in time. The Gay community will hear, or probably already has heard, that Charlie has come out for them. Will Charlie's Pubbie supporters who would "decide against him" over this, get the word that he has come out? I hope so. Many people, unlike political junkies like me, aren't paying real close attention.

I sure he has already gotten every gay vote anyway. It is not exactly a secret that he is gay.
