Karen B., a Los Angeles writer in her 40s, found a sperm donor on Craigslist after she and her lesbian partner decided to have a baby.
"I tried every male friend, gay, straight, married and single, but it was really difficult to find somebody," said Karen. "I was running out of options and my biological clock was ticking."
After connecting on the Internet, she and the donor, Daniel C., signed a layman's agreement that the child would live with Karen and she would make all parenting decisions. He would have some visitation rights.
"I always wanted the baby to know the father," said Karen, who had originally intended to use a family friend's sperm until she discovered he was HIV positive.
But as the pregnancy progressed, Daniel interjected himself into the couple's life, even telling the doctor he was Karen's husband, even though he was gay.

Imagine if it were 1965, and you looked into a window while walking down the street and saw a newspaper with that headline. Aside from stopping dead in your tracks while your eyes widened and your jaw dropped, you'd think you accidentally wandered into the bad side of town and happened upon one of those "book stores" that usually lacked windows, and for good reason.

Yup. They create this horrible situation, bring a child into it and blame everybody else when things don't go as they dreamed it would. They had a fantasy plan and reality beat them with truth.
For something so important to her, she shouldn’t have gone cheap. Craigslist for a donor and the internet for a contract - just stupid.

She shouldn’t have done it at all. Children are not designer accessories and two of the same sex is not a family unit. They have made a circus out of their attempts at social engineering. The one who will pay the highest price is the innocent kid.

I’m not condoning it. I just think that these folks don’t even care enough to do it the way that does the least harm to the child, just the cheapest way to get what they want.

These people were only thinking about what they wanted. Homosexuality is very hedonistic anyway.
