Obama: Pro-Union ‘Card Check’ Dead, So We’ll Use Regulation

During a backyard event with some supporters in Fairfax, Va., today, President Obama conceded something that all observers of Big Labor politics in Washington have known for a while: “Card check” legislation is dead. But he told supporters of the law not to worry since the administration has other ways of doing this:

Frankly, we don’t have 60 votes in the Senate. So the opportunity to actually get this passed right now is not real high. What we’ve done instead is try to do as much as we can administratively to make sure that it’s easier for unions

Blocking “card check” has been a giant victory by the GOP for the rights of workers to maintain their long-cherished secret ballot.

We should all remember that the GOP, RINOs included, did at least one thing right.

Likewise, we should never forget that the news media sided with union goons *against* the rights of workers.

There is nothing in this article at link worth reading. Of course Obama is going to say this, the unions are his base contributers. Plus they challenged some democrats he supported like Sen Lincoln in the democrat primary.

Exactly what is this “unfair” disadvantage Obama believes the unions are suffering? As I understand the current law, any union can go into any workplace and lobby the employees to join, set up meetings, schedule votes, etc. as long as they do not disrupt production. How is that an unfair disadvantage?
