The thing that has bothered me about the Republicians for the last 20 years or so was that they were poor copies of the Dems. Bush would not close the border, ran deficits, etc. One wonders if they will ever shape up?

********

That is the million dollar question. Upon the answer hinges any real possibility to “take back” the party. From my view, the Goldwaters, Reagans and Palins are the anomalies. What are called RINOs actually are the GOP norm - the Fords, the Doles, yes - the Bushes, the Romneys and the McCains.

We are attempting to invert the GOP in an equal - but opposite - way that the Democrat party was inverted in 1968.

Time will tell, but unquestioning party loyalty is nearly extinct.

Establishment Republicans - they never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.

If they don't get their heads out of their nether regions the TEA party will someday be leaving them behind as an ineffective third party.

Their hatred and contempt is on full display for all Americans to see.

Agreed. Even some of the people here - who are good people - who wear the livery have to be seeing the light. In some ways this is analogous to the PUMA awakening to their party’s corruptions and disdain.

Interesting times indeed.

I never thought much of Rove as a Bush/GOP campaign advisor his Bush campaigns were allways squeakers. After he allowed the war support as well as the WMD issues go unchallanged and build into a hue and cry my feelings about the guy was that he was highly over rated.

In July, when Christine was up by 2 over Coons, Obama was up by 1. I could say that since July, Christine has been mercilessly been attacked by Castle in Delaware. And she lost 3 to Coons since then. Now, she’s got some money, and the time to think about how to spend it.

Rasmussen in DE has had Obamas approval numbers up and down pretty much all year.

Anyone seriously think that Obama is more popular in Delaware now than last January. They said on Jan 25 that Obama was at 50 approve 49 disapprove. Today they’re saying that Obama is at 54 approve 43 disapprove.

Interesting. Nationally, Obama’s numbers have been falling all year. But they’ve been improving in Delaware?

People like Rove are still giving talking points to the biased media and the far left fanatics

That is also true of FreeRepublic. I've read more damaging information about Christine here than any other source.

Exactly. These revelations have been absolutely stunning. Not only with what is being stated openly but the manner in which those statements are being made; full of disdain/contempt, snobbery, hatred etc. I had no idea that we were looked at in the light they have portrayed us. They've been stealing our trust and stealing our votes. We have pure unadulterated marxists in the White House but it is very clear, the republicans are as culpable for this disaster as anyone. They've been sitting on their haunches, fat and happy and not guarding the gates; which we elected them to do. Instead, they've compromised us to this point by their 'reaching across the aisle' attitudes and the I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine overtures. And even now, with the dangers ahead, these elitist bastards are more concerned with getting a croney in office and will try to destroy anyone in their way, even if that person is a true republican. /rant (sorry)

To the Republican establishment, tea party people are field hands. Their labors are to be recognized and rewarded, but they are to stay off the porch and not presume to sit at the master’s table.

Bingo!

Pat hit the ball out of the park with this read!

Precisely. I've been thinking about this very thing and that is exactly what they were/are. An anomaly and we voted republican believing that if there was an R by the name then naturally they were committed to the principles of the greatest R of all: President Reagan. But it's been a downward slide since he left office because, the party was actually reverting back to it's normal tendencies: elitism, blueblood, ruling mentality.

Not patriarchs. Patriarchs by definition must possess some degree of virility.

These malefactors are more on the order of court eunuchs.
