Rove, Cornyn To Back Greene in SC
Self | 9/17/10 | Self

In a week in which the Republican establishment faced withering criticism from voters, perhaps the strangest turn of events occurred Friday evening when Washington insider Karl Rove declared his endorsement of South Carolina Democrat Senatorial candidate Alvin Greene.

In announcing his unconditional support, Rove stated, “It’s become obvious to me that in 2010 voters are looking for unconventional candidates, and nobody says ‘unconventional’ like Mr. Greene.” Rove added that Greene’s opponent, Senator Jim DeMint no longer stands for what the Republican Party represents and has shown no loyalty to Washington. “It’s patently obvious,” continued Rove, “that Mr. Greene’s loyalties will be much easier to buy and sell than Senator DeMint. DeMint has been grossly disloyal to the Republican establishment, and it’s time for him to go. If I can get Krauthammer on board, we’re going to show Senator DeMint how to run a winning campaign.”

Rove, who drew much fire for his criticism of Delaware Senatorial candidate Christine O’Donnell, re-iterated his contention that she is unelectable due to her checkered past. “O’Donnell needs to explain her checkered past. She has railed against masturbation and pornography, whereas somebody like Mr. Greene has a proven track record of tolerating both practices. To my knowledge, Mr. Greene doesn’t even know how to play checkers.”

Shortly after Rove’s endorsement, Texas Senator, and NRSC head John Cornyn declared his intention to support Greene’s candidacy. Reached for comment, “We in the Senate were gravely concerned about the loss of Arlen Specter in primaries, but we feel that Alvin Greene will bring to the Senate chambers the same kind of mealy-mouthed nonsense that at one time we believed on Senator Specter was capable of producing. Besides, I’m hoping he’ll share those racy phone pics with the rest of us.” Cornyn admitted that backing a candidate from the opposition party was unconventional but said that he simply could no longer support Senator Demint’s efforts to undermine “business as usual in the GOP.” Cornyn indicated that he felt a little remorseful about not backing Larry Elder against Barbara Boxer in the California Senate race and that backing Greene would be a good opportunity for him to exorcise his white guilt.

When asked for comment regarding his newfound support, Alvin Greene simply added, “Nooooooooooooo!”

Rove and Kraut need to hightail it to Carolina to prove their point over the next 6 weeks.

I have also heard that Rove will be in Alaska passing out pens for Mulkowski’s write-in ballot.

That’s Tokyo Rove. Needs to be hammered home.

He reads FR.

Green looks a little like Rodney “can we all just get along” King in this photo.

LOL.

It would help to have the correct spelling in front of one.

I hear AK is nice in November.

Washington ruling class insiders are not just the professional politicians. It's them and a huge RETINUE of attached parasites making up a vested interest in continuity that explains why there's so much BITTERNESS over outsiders getting IN!

There's an ENTOURAGE of courtiers, courtesans, publiscists, and God knows what else making a HUGE easy living off the politician. Not to mention all the IOU's and pay-backs someone like Castle owes and is owed.

Cornyn has no excuse. He’s starting to become tiresome with his poor judgement. Tokyo Rove has his dated view of the political landscape and he’s stuck on stupid. Maybe he should try and do something. Why doesn’t he become a candidate instead of an observer? Since he has all the answers isn’t it about time he share them. I’m wishing now that Fitzgerald had indicted him and he was convicted and sentenced to some federal time. He needs to make the shift over to CNN or MSNBC now.

Quit patting yourself on the back. He’s no more a “Tokyo” anything than Cheney for supporting gay marriage or Reagan for signing amnesty. Sometimes people are just wrong, not traitors.

Rove and Cornyn support amnesty with McCain and Graham-nesty.

Greene would probably be better than Lindsay Graham.

I think they are going to see Hugo first to compare notes.

"can’t you at least add a vanity tag? maybe a satire tag?"

Hmmmm....I thought where I indicated the source as "Self" the vanity aspect would be obvious. Posting this under "Humor" would have been another clue, and if all that weren't enough I added under comment #1 "Satire."

Perhaps I should have just titled this "Vanity Humor Satire Piece I Wrote By Myself". I'll be sure to do that next time just for you. Sorry for any confusion I caused.

This is no time to be wrong. We are in the middle of an election and he is not helping. Traitors are not helpful either. He better get with the program and start helping or he is through.
