Colin Powell critical of President Obama (AND TEA PARTY)

On Meet the Press: Powell said the tea party activists who are driving the opposition against Obama were part of a movement, but they do not yet offer the kind of agenda that makes them a party. They have to offer more than slogans, he said.
"This movement doesn't become a real force until it's until it starts to talk to the issues," Powell said. "I want to cut spending. I want to have lower taxes. But how do you do that? You can't just have slogans. You can't just have catchy phrases. You have to have an agenda."

I guess to this ungrateful dimwit lower taxes, less government, and less spending are not elements of an agenda.

He obviously shouldn’t be commenting on the Tea Party. He certainly has his head firmly planted up his behind if he thinks the TP has only offered slogans.

Powell has been in Washington since he was with the Reagan administration. He has no idea what the Tea Party is about or what the issues are which caused it to coalesce. Like the rest of the beltway snobs he cannot imagine that the people have begun to think for themselves.
To: Blue Turtle
I am with an earlier poster. If calling for lower taxes, smaller government, abolishing entitlements, and ending deficit spending is not an agenda, what is it? These are more than slogans to me.
To: Nosterrex
These are more than slogans to me.Of course they're more than slogans. The libs don't like those policies so they ridicule them and deny their value. We just need to stick to them as the regular American people know exactly what we're talking about and agree with us.
