Obama: "We can absorb a terrorist attack" (Woodward book)
Washington Post ^

Woodward's book portrays Obama and the White House as barraged by warnings about the threat of terrorist attacks on U.S. soil and confronted with the difficulty in preventing them. During an interview with Woodward in July, the president said, "We can absorb a terrorist attack. We'll do everything we can to prevent it, but even a 9/11, even the biggest attack ever . . . we absorbed it and we are stronger."

NOW we know why he didn’t feel the need to attend the WTC memorial.

"More proof that he considers Americans rabble."
IMO he considers Americans to be largely infidels. Infidels are to be converted, subjugated, or killed.

Why should we make it so damn likely that we can say we can absorb an attack?
To: quesney
Taking a tremendous hit, spiralling backwards and regrouping, marshalling ALL forces to fight one of the most evil forces on the planet as well as to fight to re-ignite the world economy...all this is not "absorbing". It is battling to survive and eventually overcome (thank you George Bush).
This is inexcusable.

He has no intention of employing/exercising DETERRENTS to PREVENT attacks, much less ‘hitting back’ AFTER an attack. I predict that terrorists are going to increase their attack strategies in the weeks leading up to the election—Obama’s October Surprise??

Of course we can absorb a terrorist attack. Unfortunately the American electorate can not absorb being talked to like adults

” I predict that terrorists are going to increase their attack strategies in the weeks leading up to the electionObamas October Surprise?? “
I wonder if the Dem stategists are cynical enough to have in the backs of their minds the thought that a “mass casualty event” would be the only thing that might save their bacon in the upcoming election....

“WE”??? I’m sure he doesn’t include himself, his family and friends in that “we”. He’s saying he can stand to lose a few serfs, mere tax slaves to the likes of him. The Republicans should use this quote often in the 2010 AND 2012 campaigns.

Obama told Woodward in the July interview that he didn't think about the Afghan war in the "classic" terms of the United States winning or losing. What a shocker, not. He thinks of it only in terms of getting out.

Violence is coming.
Let's just hope it's directed at the appropriate targets and not at each other.

I expect the Muslims will remain quiet until after the election. America's enemies WANT the ‘Rats to be in control Washington.

If he were a military guy, I’d cut him some slack. He isn’t, so I won’t.
A strategist can talk that talk. A politician can’t. And he’s pure politician.

A responsible President would have said “We can absorb a terrorist attack, but...........we will respond with such force that the attackers and/or country that attacks us will be destroyed.”

This a quote by our loser POTUS Im always worried about using the word victory.
What can you expect from someone who thinks this way !
To: quesney
What an insensitive, cold and unnerving declaration!
Have the little children who no longer feel the loving nightly hugs and kisses of a father or mother "absorbed" 9/11?
What about the bride or groom who expected a happy life together and, instead, missed out on companionship for the last 9 years? Did they "absorb" it?
A wisdom book declares:
"Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh."
Even if there were a different interpretation possible of this statement, no wise or true leader would utter the words, knowing the pain and hurt they might cause. Such words are windows to the soul.
