Obama: "We can absorb a terrorist attack" (Woodward book)
Washington Post ^

Posted on 09/22/2010 10:09:19 AM PDT by quesney

Woodward's book portrays Obama and the White House as barraged by warnings about the threat of terrorist attacks on U.S. soil and confronted with the difficulty in preventing them. During an interview with Woodward in July, the president said, "We can absorb a terrorist attack. We'll do everything we can to prevent it, but even a 9/11, even the biggest attack ever . . . we absorbed it and we are stronger."

Something tells me 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Washington. D.C. would be high on a terrorist list of places to start. Why is he doing this? Does he know something the rest of us do not? Scary times we live in.

Your proposed commercial should be played everywhere. Every state lost people in that attack.

I wonder if his attitude would be so cavelier if the attack were centered on him, Michelle and the kids in the White House.

I can see November from my house!

Anybody read his previous books on the Bush administration? Were they pretty accurate, or is this guy unreliable as a source?

Why doesn’t Bob Woodward do some real journalism and question him on his birth certificate or the fact that there is no school marks no anything to history, except radicalism. Mr. Prize reporter is typical of what now passes for journalism — he doesn’t realize it (or maybe he does) but he has another Richard Nixon on his hands who is covering things up. So what does Woodward — establishment reporter — do? Nothing. The real reports work for Andrew Briebart. Woodward works for Obama.

WH going to the mattresses: Narcissistic personality disorder is one of several types of personality disorders. Personality disorders are conditions in which people have traits that cause them to feel and behave in socially distressing ways, limiting their ability to function in relationships and in other areas of their life, such as work or school. Narcissistic personality disorder treatment is centered around psychotherapy. Symptoms Narcissistic personality disorder is characterized by dramatic, emotional behavior, in the same category as antisocial and borderline personality disorders. Narcissistic personality disorder symptoms may include: ■Believing that you're better than others ■Fantasizing about power, success and attractiveness ■Exaggerating your achievements or talents ■Expecting constant praise and admiration ■Believing that you're special and acting accordingly ■Failing to recognize other people's emotions and feelings ■Expecting others to go along with your ideas and plans ■Taking advantage of others ■Expressing disdain for those you feel are inferior ■Being jealous of others ■Believing that others are jealous of you ■Trouble keeping healthy relationships ■Setting unrealistic goals ■Being easily hurt and rejected ■Having a fragile self-esteem ■Appearing as tough-minded or unemotional Although some features of narcissistic personality disorder may seem like having confidence or strong self-esteem, it's not the same. Narcissistic personality disorder crosses the border of healthy confidence and self-esteem into thinking so highly of yourself that you put yourself on a pedestal. In contrast, people who have healthy confidence and self-esteem don't value themselves more than they value others. c/o Mayo Clinic Staff

Those words sound more like an invitation to me and an indication that he does not intend to respond to a terrorist attack. And to remember the foaming at the mouth from the liberals in response to President Bush’s “Bring It On” comment.

Indeed. And his whole administration. If they “absorb” it ok, then we’ll see about the rest of us.

America probably can absorb an attack. However, the survivors will likely see to it that the administration that let it happen doesn’t survive, at least not politically.

Yeh....kind of like the way the twin towers absorbed the airplanes?

Obama is doing to America, what those planes did to the Twin Towers!

Jeesh, for a puppet, this guy is utterly clueless. His best accomplishment, was fooling the millions of leeches in our country, to vote for him.

Since then...he's useless....and completely in over his empty head.

Obama rejected the military's request for 40,000 troops as part of an expansive mission that had no foreseeable end. "I'm not doing 10 years," he told Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton at a meeting on Oct. 26, 2009. "I'm not doing long-term nation-building. I am not spending a trillion dollars."

Right. Not spending a trillion dollars.

You know, I think this country could absorb another terrorist attack better than another six years with this clown in the Oval Office.

Since the first attack was “deserved” in his mind, then the next attack will also be “deserved.”
We do not deserve this America-hater.

I wonder if the Dem stategists are cynical enough to have in the backs of their minds the thought that a “mass casualty event” would be the only thing that might save their bacon in the upcoming election....

You mean that the electorate would react like Spaniards? I think that would be a critical misjudgment. The American voter would flash to the Security Mom standard in a heartbeat.

“Sounds as if he has no intention of striking back.”

Not only that but he seems to be okay with it if we do get attacked.
