White House quickly attacks GOP 'Pledge'
Politico ^ | Sept. 22, 2010 | JAKE SHERMAN

The White House immediately attacked the House Republicans’ election agenda rollout Wednesday evening, claiming the 21-page "Pledge to America" plan will “take America back to the same failed economic policies that caused this recession.”

White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer, writing on the White House blog, said Republicans “doubled down on the same ideas that hurt America’s middle class,” listing tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires, tax hikes for the middle class, “cutting rules and oversight” for financial services, health care and oil, all while adding to the deficit.

Republicans would counter that they are trying to cut taxes across the board and save taxpayer dollars by a federal hiring freeze and caps on spending. The agenda will be formally unveiled at an event in Sterling, Va., Thursday, in a rollout reminiscent of the 1994 Contract with America.

Pfeiffer notes that the document does not mention education, clean energy, protecting Social Security and bolstering infrastructure.

“This is the same agenda that caused the deepest recession since the Great Depression, costing 8 million jobs, wiping out trillions in family wealth and setting middle-class families back,” Pfeiffer wrote. “Instead of a pledge to the American people, Congressional Republicans made a pledge to the big special interests to restore the same economic ideas that benefited them at the expense of middle-class families.”

The GOP could have post the 10 Commandments and this administration would have attacked it as outdated hate speech.

The purple, yellow and UN blue of “Yes We Can” meets the Red, White and Blue of “We the People” in November. This is one that “We the People” has to win. The survival of America depends upon it.

Well said.

The social experiment is over, time to run the Kenyan out of office.

Look out Zer0, the hope and change is a coming... and not from you.

obama-the-teacher2sm

Time to end the experiment brought on by the piss-steam media and the Bush derangement crowd.

Was there any mention of repealing the tanning tax? If they can’t even do basics little steps first you might as well forget about them biting the hand that feeds them (IRS).

The RATS (D's, MFM, Leftards) have found themselves facing the perfect storm and they are peeesing themselves and yet cannot avoid the oncoming train. Mr Paladino is the very best man to drive the final nail into the RATS brains as he slices into the root of all our problems, Cuomo/Clinton/D's’ corruption and fraud in HUD, Fannie & Freddie...no wonder the LEFT is about to collapse into total hysteria...this is amusing but very dangerous. Stay alert FREEPERS.

Let them rant...they're walking right into the perfect storm.

So Obama wants to fight? Great! He can have his Marxist seminar issues and his seminar talking points, and we'll take the People.

Billy Jeff the Rapist would, when he realized he'd got caught with a losing hand, try to minimize differences, "triangulate" furiously, "rise above", and then go in for a big, smarmy group-hug that was really a bear hug on the people who were kicking his butt. Obama isn't that smart, so we're going to see how Obama's instincts work.

Obama wants to sharpen differences to spike up the black vote, because he sees turning out his base as the key. But by going after the Tea Party and getting all radical and racial, he'll also spike up the Tea Party and indie vote.

Without reading another word, my reaction to this unsupported assertion, is that I wonder how stupid does this Administration think that we are?

Clearly adding trillions of dollars to our debt, stealth socialism by Barney Frank and Dodd, increased taxes, socialized medicine, are all failed policies by Democrats! The Democrats constantly and relentlessly defy the will of the people with proven failed policies. Then they blame Republicans! Crazy!

Meanwhile, the majority of Americans know the Kenyan’s failed economic policies made this recession worse.

“This is the same agenda that caused the deepest recession since the Great Depression...”

Lying with a straight face and accusing your opponent of exactly what you are doing. Two Democrat tactics that a large percentage of Americans fall for time and again.

Meanwhile, the policies of the "Uh" are taking America back to the good ol' years of Pharaoh, with a 2 class system of the small ruling elite and the dirt poor pissed on masses: All Hail Big Brother!!!

Could you put a link to a copy of the “Pledge to America” at the top as soon as it is officially released. Someone posted a copy of the draft last night, but dad wants to read it in the final form as do I and imagine many others.

Hopefully it will be strong enough to tip the balance on some of the close races.

You know, in hindsight, being back to where we were in 2008 is really not such a bad idea.

I said this would give the White House a target to avoid the REAL issues of this election and that it should not have been done. Got ripped pretty good here at FR. Well, here it comes, just as I predicted. Now they are able to focus on “the pledge” and not on TRILLIONS of DEBT, and SOCIALIZED MEDICINE..the REAL ISSUES. The RNC gave them talking points and the RNC should have kept its mouth shut. Nothing like handing ammunition to your enemies. The “pledge” is a sermon to the choir ... nobody is going to be “swayed” by it. 21 pages? IF they were going to do this, it should have been 1 page! A HUGE target, full of holes for the Dem’s “avoidance discussion” which started with this comment from the White House. Here it comes, the perfect diversion! Now the talk will all be about “what’s wrong with the pledge” instead of what wrong with OBAMA’S COMMUNIST POLICIES!
