That would be my first thought.

Prayers for you Glen, you’re a good good man.

This sounds like MS. My daughter has it and these are EXACTLY the same symptoms...and an eye doctor misdiagnosed it for 2 years.

Just anecdotal, but my husband (thin, not overweight, athletic) started having issues with stumbling; he admitted he could ‘feel his feet.’ We thought the worse; he went thru neuro testing; mri; but it was his blood sugar (which was over 600) that caused the problem. This was about 8 years ago.

He still has ‘feeling’ issues (he his sugar is now around 100ish consistantly—normal for him) yet if he ‘jumps’ to about 130 or so he can ‘feel’ it in his feet. And yes, he does have permanent nerve loss.

He also had a heart attack (bad one) this summer. He is only 53. Diabetes is a killer and much more common now.

Friend of mine-VN vet, recently diagnosed with diabetes. Good physical condition. VA had told him “borderline diabetic.” Several months later (symptoms similar to your husband) he went to his own doc who stated “full-blown diabetic.”
Placed on Avandia which was pulled by FDA only yesterday! Cure worse than the disease I guess.
