My Big American Foot is in my mouth. Yesterday, I made an awkward joke with a reporter in Toronto about Americans (like me) being self-absorbed relative to Netflix pricing in Canada. I was wrong to have made the joke, and I do not believe that one of the most philanthropically-minded nations in the world (America) is self-absorbed or full of self-absorbed people. The pricing Netflix is offering in Canada, $7.99 per month, does not include any DVD-by-mail option, and that is why it is cheaper than our $8.99 USA plan which has both DVD-by-mail and streaming in one plan. We are looking at adding a streaming-only option for the USA over the coming months. My apologies to anyone offended by my self-absorbed comment. Sincerely, -Reed

How is it that people ‘forget’ that once something hits the internet everyone in the whole world knows what one said/did?
I read his interview when it was reported and the last thing you got from it was that it was a joke. He was asked a serious question and responded accordingly. This A-hole can take his cheap movies and cram them. I am done with the service. Maybe that’s because I am a self absorbed dope.

I terminated netflix when I became tired of seeing “Gay & Lesbian” as a major film category on their site.
Western. Family. Comedy. Drama. Gay & Lesbian.
I got tired of seeing the category, and I didn’t want my kids to see it lest they believe it was a normal, accepted thing.
Same with Blockbuster.
They filed, but they will still be operating.
New investors came in and acquired some of the debt.
Just restructuring.
I’m trying Netflix right now on a free one month trial.

Not long ago this same guy stated “the rich” don’t pay enough taxes and he thought rates on them should be raised. It was for that reason I chose Blockbuster instead of Netflix.

...I’m with you on that! A few weeks ago my 13 year old daughter was having a sleepover and her friends hopped on Netflix and were giggling over the names and pics on the “G&L” section. I dumped the service the next day along with a letter explaining.

This is what happens when you permit the elite to talk down to your society and order you around like slaves. For example, corporations have imposed homosexuality and sluttiness on our society like it is their right to demand we all find that behavior cool and lovely. This corporate social engineering is in total disregard to the best interests and mental and physical health of our society. The other sham they shoved on us for their own interest was global warming for cap and trade and government energy project funding. In addition they are always pushing for globalism no matter the detriment of the US.
Libertarians often say that CEO’s can do whatever they want to workers and consumers and this attitude has given CEO’s an outsized ego. It appears that now includes running our elections through a propaganda press to put in place a leftist who will shake down the treasury after our superiors economically crash with their lack of wisdom and
integrity.
These people need a punch in the nose so they can find out they really do bleed like mere mortals.

Basically we won’t permit our daughters any sleepovers unless we feel that the family is “even better Christians than us” (and closely supervised the whole time).
