Whitman spends $120 million of her own money to campaign for governor yet cuts costs by hiring a foreigner as a maid.
LOL, did all you people just beam in from the mother ship? There are other threads here which clearly state that Whitman has the documents presented by this ex employee which clearly show she has a drivers license, a SS card and had signed a statement claiming she was a citizen and eligible to work here.
Plus she was actually employed by an agency who had the responsibility to verify her status and did not.
Nope. I’m suggesting the rich shouldn’t hire Mexican labor. That’s all.
I wonder if they were the same ones that worked at Colin Powell’s house.
The maid came in through a service and filed false paperwork.

This is nonsense. The maid had a social security card and a driver’s license, evidence that she was a citizen. Then, she confessed that she was an illegal and had used her sister’s documents. At that point she was fired.
And in another article, the maid complained that she was fired because Meg Whitman is mean and inconsiderate. And the reporter made a big thing of THAT.
Let’s at least get the story straight.
Let’s see here. Whitman furnished this woman with a W-2 each year for 9 years. That doesn’t sound like someone who “knew” she had an illegal working for her. Note, she did not give her a 1099, she gave her a W-2 which means she withheld taxes and FICA from this woman’s check. I understand the woman was using her sister’s identity.
the law requires a DL and social security number.

$23.00 an hour for illegal? I know a lot of people who would like to make $23.00 an hour today, let alone in 2000.
She paid her $25.00 per hour, that's hardly cutting costs. She also furnished her with a W-2 each year meaning that she withheld taxes, FICA and matched the FICA.
She's obviously far more conscientious than most other Californians who contract out their house and yardwork.

Personally, after facing her in court for almost 2 weeks, seeing and hearing her interact with various women and women's groups in the courthouse hallways begging her to intercede in their behalf and seeing her take my ex-wife's home for attorney fees after the judge told her to take a hike on her demands of me, I believe her to be one of the lowest human beings I have EVER had the misfortune to have met. BTW ... she didn't take the cases.......there was nobody rich enough to rape for her court costs.
