Reporters Freak as Ann Coulter Meets Gay GOPers
Human Events ^ | 9/30/2010 | Lisa De Pasquale

I’ve attended dozens of Ann Coulter speeches over the years. They’ve been on college campuses, donor events, and conferences with thousands and thousands of people. It’s a common occurrence for reporters to lie about the event in order to suit their narrative and image of Coulter. But, after reading about an event this past weekend I felt like I was in an episode of “The Twilight Zone.”

I was fortunate to be a guest of Coulter’s at a New York City cocktail party where she gave a short speech and did Q & A with GOProud, a group of conservative-minded gays. Unsurprisingly, Coulter stuck to her principles by defending traditional marriage between one man and one woman. They were completely charmed and loved every minute of the repartee. What’s a reporter to make of a crowded room of open-minded conservatives with Ann Coulter at the helm? Lie, of course!

I haven’t studied this issue, nor do I care to. However, let me offer some personal anectodal evidence. In my 53 years, I have had 3 gay room mates. 2 were very effeminate in physical appearance and mannerisms and it was obvious that they were gay. My opinion was that it was nature at work. The third was not so, and I believed that his gay nature was the product of his environment, specifically child abuse. Dunno if my opinions were or are right, but there was an obvious physical difference with the first 2 and most males. My 2 cents.

their whole agenda is for the homosexual agenda. marriage, adoption, don’t ask etc.

No, I don't think this is the case. Because of the business I am in, I am friends with several gay women and men. The women tend to lean Republican and conservative. They are are not closet liberals or trolls & I would not call them feminists either. They are smart women and understand reality.

What they do in their own bedroom is no concern of mine.....

What a shame they don't keep in their bedroom and out of the schools, military and courts. Then it becomes my business because they forced the issue.

Anyone claiming to be a conservative that supports homosexuality is a progressive in disguise.

benewton : Absolutely concur.

maddog55: Well said..

I support the right of homosexuals to be conservatives, and the brains of conservatives to differentiate between homosexual conservatives, and homosexual progressive-RINO shills, and I acknowledge the existence of the two different groups.

I hope that's REAL CLEAR to y'all deep thinkers out there in Freeperland.

Also, anyone who mentions conservatism without also mentioning the Constitution is one of the many, many bailout-paid progressive Obama shills infesting Free Republic and trying to divide conservatives.

No intelligent homosexual is a Democrat, because history proves a million times over that collectivists are the most fervent oppressors and murderers of homosexuals. So with the rise of the Tea Party movement, I expect many more homosexuals to cross over politically, as they learn the treachery of their "side."

On the other hand, without the protections of the American Constitution, I would not be interested in knowing many Bible thumpers. I've been around long enough to see the viciousness in a lot of what people call Christianity, and every time I have, I've thanked Jesus for the Constitution of Negative Rights (aka mind your own business).

Oh, and that Christianity thing? A few times I've actually found Christians who incorporate all of Jesus's sissy teachings, too. You know, forgivness, mercy, charity, not being proud or arrogant, not throwing the first stones, loving others as He loved us... And amazingly, some of them also are vets, own guns and believe homosexuality is a sickness, too - but that it's also private, and something they should pray over, rather than damn with contempt and shun from political involvement. Funny, huh? I mean, how can they call themselves Christians?

Of course, this level of discussion doesn't match the crude bumper-stickers being passed off here as conservative thought. So you can go back to dragging your knuckles now - I've made ore than enough points for you to sound out for the next few hours with Hooked On Phonetics.

Too many Freepers threw Ann under the bus for even APPEARING in the same room with GOProud.

I repeatedly made the point Ann would do what she does... humorously deliver her conservative viewpoints whether her audience wants to hear them or not. With clarity and sarcasm. This was no different than her speeches before college crowds that are often infested with students who don't even want her to be able to speak. She obviously relishes her role as an unapologetically conservative antagonist. She doesn't pander. Bless her.

The gays can have all agenda they want, but as a conservative, I am unwilling to redefine "civil rights" to include sexual behavior or redefine marriage to include same-sex. I will not pretend that there is no difference between a man and a woman and the wondrous relationship that exists between them. Nor will I allow them to use the force of government to indocrinate the children.

If GOProud understands all that and still wants to vote "R"....well then...whatever.

GOProud and Log Cabin Republicans push homosexual rights. Your friends may not be members.

I watched my cousin from the time he was a baby and he was a sissy boy from birth... I do not believe that it is a choice..Maybe for the one time college trying that woman always talk about.. But in all it is a trait born with..

That is entirely possible, but it still wouldn't mean that it was genetic, necessarily. It could be a fetal developmental defect. Sexual development in fetuses/babies is rather complicated, after all.

Also, the sissy-like nature of your cousin from birth proves nothing. There are plenty of sissy men who are heterosexual. It is entirely possible that your cousin could have been (or is) heterosexual by nature, but either gravitated toward homosexuality as more accepting of his sissy nature, or was pushed that way. In addition, not all homos act like sissies, so the presence of one quality doesn't require the presence of the other.

what gene produces testosterone and/or estrogen?

that one

I have no problem with gays who want to be treated like everyone else and NO
T parade it around

I have a lifelong freind who turned out to be gay and he never talked about it

Also i have a family member and she is gay and I kind of alwas knew

it is some thing in the way they are made. The way they are made is all in their genes, isn’t it?

But when they try to promote it, and recrukt, and demand special rights, thats when I object

Of course, you are correct, a conservative would be fine with what they do when alone. But they try to make it a part of the lives of all of the rest of us. And that is NOT compatible with conservatism.

Agreed. My business as well. I said "The love of which no one speaks" for a reason.

“The CHOICE of promoting it SIMULTANEOUSLY with a leftist agenda and prmoton/recruitment of children is incompatible with conservatism.”

Tisk, tisk, logic again. When will it stop.

You've just tipped your hand, buddy, and demonstrated just how much of the progressive brainwashing you've absorbed. Not only do you write about your position on the issue as if you have a god-like intellectual superiority, but you assume that, simply by the nature of your opinion, you are more enlightened than the "knuckle-draggers" who disagree with you. That is leftism in a nutshell. Congrats.

Also, another logical fallacy which you haven't stated, but is implied in your posts, is that any disagreement with homosexual organizations or preferential policies is equal to hatred of homosexuals themselves, or a desire to deny them Constitutional rights. This is also a bogus tactic employed by the Left. The promotion of homosexuality IS incompatible with American conservatism, but that doesn't mean that American conservatives wish to round up homos or even to stop them from practicing their homosexuality. It only means that preservation of the foundational elements of American law and society cannot withstand special status for a sexual disorder. If homosexuals want to violate each other in private, they can. However, their attempts to redefine marriage, outlaw disapproval, and indoctrinate school children are intolerable.

it is the case, read their manifesto, it’;s all about homosexuality.

They are not conservatives at all but homosexuals trying to con some people.

As for saying homosexual women tend to lean republican, well I’m speechless.

Homosexuality is disgusting, and unnatural.

Any woman wearing a strap on and pretending to be a man to get off has some serious mental issues.
That goes for a man having sex with another man.

Homosexuality is a choice, you are born heterosexual, I don’t care what anyone tells you.

Then how do you explain people who are born with both genitalia? There are people born like that and you can't say that was a choice, now can you? I used to buy the "it's a choice" line of thought, but the more I read and understood the complexities of the human genome, the more I have come to believe that homosexuality is at least in part genetic. For that reason, I hold no ill will for people who happen to be homosexual. For whatever reason they are attracted to people of the same sex and it's not for me to judge them.

I don’t doubt there may be some “nature” related to homosexuality much the same way one may be pre-disposed to drinking too much, however, there is no “gay gene.” That being the case, nurture is the only alternative.

Either way, that doesn’t make the behavior acceptable in a civilized society. We all have negative proclivities; if we acted upon them, we’d all be much worse off individually and as a society.

“it would have been bred out of existence long ago”

Not to get into this argument, but there are spontaneous mutations that occur. Take a look at neurofibromatosis NF2.

love the part where the person said homosexual women are smart and they understand reality. If that were the case they’d be with a man having sex and be able to reproduce with have natural sex.
