Two new polls show Brown ahead of Whitman in governor's race

Two new polls Monday showed Democrat Jerry Brown leading Republican Meg Whitman in the race for governor, but the modest point spread indicates it will likely remain a tight contest to the finish.

The Rasmussen and SurveyUSA polls were the first taken since celebrity Los Angeles attorney Gloria Allred revealed last week that Whitman had employed an illegal immigrant housekeeper for nine years -- a story that has dominated the campaign ever since.

The polls were released on a day when KGO-AM in San Francisco announced that a radio debate between Whitman and Brown scheduled for today had been canceled. Exactly why remains a bit of a mystery.

The Rasmussen poll of 750 likely voters showed 49 percent favored Brown, while 44 percent favored Whitman. In a similar survey two weeks ago, Rasmussen found the two candidates in a statistical dead heat -- Brown at 47 percent, Whitman at 46 percent

Why would a FReeper vote for Moonbeam? Whitman isn’t pure enough for them?

If Californians want to allow a slip and fall lawyer like Gloria Allred to have more influence over how they vote rather than the issues that actually impact California, then they get what they deserve. I wish California luck and now officially write the state off. It, along with NY and some other states will soon become irrelevant.

Look at all the Freepers who are voting for Brown rather than Whitman..... go figure. They have a death wish for the formerly great state of California.

Carolyn,

Nothing good will come from either a Brown or Whitman governership.

Meg will disappoint you in ways just like Arnold.

SHe is bad news and will only help to finish the job Arnold started where destroying the GOP in California is concerned.

It's her full-throated support for taxpayer-funded Abortion that I can't stomach.

It's bad enough when your political enemies, invested in Marxism, support Abortion, but when somebody who is supposed to be on my team and representing me supports it, there is no way that I'll be voting for this turd of a candidate.

There is no excuse for this type of behavior, none.

1. Supports Tax-Payer funded Abortion
2. Is an Open-Border Advocate, was against AZ1070
3. Supports the Global Warming Scam, is against Prop. 23.

What is your definitino of pure enough?

No, just invested in somebody who isn't a Republican and doesn't represent the core values of the GOP winning and therefore moving the GOP further to the left and to it's eventual demise as a result.

I take it Killing Babies doesn't bother you a bit, right?

Should have said:

No, just invested in somebody not winning who isn't a Republican and doesn't represent the core values of the GOP winning and therefore moving the GOP further to the left and to it's eventual demise as a result.

“All Politics in America is not local but ultimately racial.”

Thanks for being bold enough to say that.

If anything, racial politics are going to increase in “intensity” in the next 10-20 years, ultimately reaching a boiling point.

The election of a black to the presidency has done nothing to halt this trend and everything to exacerbate it. But then, considering the deteriorating “state of the races” over the last forty years, we should have expected nothing less that what we’re seeing now.

Another poster wrote:
“We are witnesses to the devolution of the U.S.A. This next election will show even greater political divisions among the states. It’s inevitable.”

He, too, is exactly right. I’m beginning to believe that the issue is no longer _if_ the United States is going to dis-unite, but just when and how that is going to happen.

Whether the “splittin’” is going to be peaceful or traumatic, can’t say. We know what happened once before!

“Let him have it. I’d rather have the Titanic slip beneath the waves with a Democrat at the helm than a RINO.

I am almost with you on that.
Whitman turned me off with her infatuation with Van Jones.
Anyway, I do not have a dog in that hunt, so I am ambivalent.

Well if the Republicans take the house, and Brown wins the Governorship of California, at least when California finally goes down the crapper they wont get any help from the Feds, cause you know the Dems will bail our their Socialist Utopia.
