Vote Like a Man

During the presidential campaign two years ago, when certain more exercised opponents of Barack Obama went out of their way to use his middle name—Hussein—even other Republicans chastised them for Islamic fearmongering. After talk- radio host Bill Cunningham repeatedly mentioned Obama’s middle name at an event for John McCain, McCain himself called it “totally inappropriate.” When the Tennessee Republican Party issued a press release that expressed concern “about the future of the nation of Israel if Sen. Barack Hussein Obama is elected president of the United States,” Republican National Committee chairman Mike Duncan said the “RNC rejects these kinds of campaign tactics.” And after Florida sheriff Mike Scott used Obama’s middle name when introducing then-vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin at a rally, Palin’s spokeswoman said her campaign does “not condone this inappropriate rhetoric.” But last week, Palin herself dropped the H-bomb—and nobody on the right seemed to mind.

In a discussion with Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren about the media’s treatment of Delaware Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell, Palin remarked, “Funny that we are learning more about Christine O’Donnell and her college years, her teenage years, and her financial dealings than anybody even bothered to ask about Barack Hussein Obama as a candidate and now as our president.” Never mind that this argument is coming from someone whose slapdash vetting by the McCain campaign before she was selected to be next in line for the presidency provided all sorts of surprises.

It’s actually an unexpected tactic for Palin, who has an interest in not becoming too fringe-y for the American middle, what with her presidential aspirations becoming ever more apparent. Most of the time, she’s been more than satisfied with referring simply to “President Obama” and avoiding insinuations that he might, in fact, be a Muslim

“I don’t get the point.”

Of course not ... it’s New York Magazine.

They have no point. Not for America, at least.

You are not supposed to.

He used his middle name while he was being sworn in as president. I didn't see this idiot write articles about 0bozo stirring up anti-Islamic feelings by mentioning his middle name while being sworn in.

Yep. They are usually the ones that are obsessed with “being a man.”

Funny that we are learning more about Christine O’Donnell and her college years, her teenage years, and her financial dealings than anybody even bothered to ask about Barack Hussein Obama as a candidate...

In the haste to chastise Palin for using the H word, they brought up "an inconvient truth" that has been bothering a lot of voters: why don't we have simple things like Obama's college transcripts? The guy has gotten a pass on everything. I think it will be another 30 years (a full passing of a generation and then some) before we get any non-biased, in depth biography of who this guy really was. And no, I'm not talking about the BC thing, I'm talking about his home life, his relatives, his college years, and who/what were his big influences in life. Honesty, we know more details about Teddy Roosevelt's life than we do Obama's.

I don’t get the point.

Let me try to 'splain it.

This Marxist writer, like the rest of them, will take a non-issue and try to make some big moral deal out of it. Usually, the Republicans will try to quiet it down by apologizing for something that requires no apology.

I am reminded of the regretful incident that chased George Allen from the VA senatorial race a few years back.. The Democrats had a dark skinned person following Allen around to every public appearance and taking notes about what he said and did. Allen's staff took to calling him Macaca. At a speech Allen started by saying hello in a good natured way to Macaca. The Democrats and media went crazy. They said because the man was dark skinned and that Macaca sounded like the name of a monkey, Allen was a racist. Allen apologized. A mistake, and Allen was soon hounded out of the race. Had he ignored the critisism and stuck to the issues his conservative arguments would have won. He was way ahead in the polls. Instead the Democrat won.

That is what we are seeing now. First of all, what is so bad about calling a person by his name? Nothing! To let the Left make it an issue is a mistake. They should be ignored. Anyway, Barak and Obama are just as Muslim sounding as Hussein so what's the big deal. Again, there is none but the Left is making it one. They are playing the PC card to silence the opposition.

Saying people should have cojones is similar. Although cojones is Spanish for testicles, that doesn't make it a sexual issue. The Left is trying to make a big deal where there is none. Conservatives are just telling people to man-up, meaning to show courage, and stop giving in to this silly BS. The Left wants that message silenced.

OK, the first two paragraphs explain why being “responsible” and “civil” about Imam Obama in 2008 helped Republicans get stomped.
