A teachable moment for the prez

President Obama got an earful at home this week when his economic-recov ery advisory board came for a visit.

The message: It's the tax cuts, stupid.

Obama convened his panel to discuss job training -- but without any teleprompters to keep folks on message, the topic quickly shifted.

The big issue: Obama's dangerous plan to let the Bush tax cuts die for top earners -- meaning that any household pulling in more than $250,000 faces a massive tax hike come Jan. 1.

The tax hike will hit small businesses especially hard. And it also spells wage stagnation for the middle class -- even people spared the direct hit are likely to feel the pinch as company profits, and then their wages, suffer.

So two advisory-board members exchanged fire with Obama over the cuts.

Harvard economist Martin Feldstein tried a modest proposal: Extend the cuts for everyone for two years to boost confidence and "keep demand alive at a time when the economy is weak."

After that, he said, it's a clean slate -- the president can take a second look once the economy is on the rebound.

Added former SEC Chairman William Donaldson: A tax-cut "spark" would relieve the uncertainty

Maybe if we renamed them “The Obama Tax Cuts” he’d be willing to consider it.

Changing his mind shouldn’t be hard. After all, he has crossed the aisle so many times before to work with the opposition... at least, that is what his supporters say. Here’s his chance.

Here is a guy who got rich with almost no work.

Bill Ayres wrote his book, He was elected a State Senator and all of a sudden he was rich.

He doesn’t understand the struggle it is for most of us to earn a living, and he doesn’t care. Today $250,000 dollars is comfortable, but it isn’t rich. many who earn this amount have it tied to their business and taxing it may put that business under.

Arguing with this maroon is a waste of time because in his arrogance, only he is right and anyone else is not worth listening to.

This man and his policies are a growing cancer in America. He is determined to turn America into a third world country. It appears the Democrat Congress is [erfectly williong to help him.

Only in DC - and the Media echo chamber - can ‘failure to increase taxes’ be equated with a ‘tax cut’....

Actually, some pundit suggested that a couple of months ago as a way to make it happen.

He is the reverse of Reagan. I.e., “I don’t care what it is so long as I can get credit for it.”

He is incapable of doing any Good whatsoever but as a societal wrecking ball, he seems to plan his work and work his plan.

That's me: about two months short of being a pundit.

Not that that's a bad thing...

Surely somebody spotted him early on...at Oxy or Columbia, probably, and saw to it that the chump would be managed as far as he could be carried.

Now that the truth about him is clear to so many, we ought to be able to make him a one-termer.

Obama is too arrogant to learn ye only wants to teach...and it doesn't matter rather he knows squat about anything or not.

I've met people like that in the past...no one like being around them because they just suck your time, don't add anything valuable to the discussion and are always talking anyway.

Puppet or not...think of all the damage he has done in 20 short months.

He’s very good at destruction whether he personally operates the demolition equipment or not.

The terrible irony of obammy will be that because he was the first elected (more or less?) black president of this country, he is doing a lot of harm to the black community. I predict it will be a very long time before we elect another black president--and that's a shame, because there are some good black people who would make good presidents .....

I think obammy has ruined their chances........

Want to feel your head start to explode?

Do a search for Hussein’s U of Chi law school exams. What a diseased mind composed those...either Hussein or whoever assisted him.

The Tea Party is going to start looking better and better to minorities. Realistic minorities, that is.

The stink from hope and change is going to linger for a hundred years.

Our grand children will be paying for Michelle's trip to Spain.
