By FR standards, perhaps, but I think the typical use of RINO would have been better for David (he's the guy whose handle was "Snopes"). Barbara struck me as a bright typical Canadian.
But those are just my impressions/recollections. As I indicated before, their research wasn't so infused with politics back then. Plus, remember that they met on USENET. Back in those days, fewer statists were online, so many FReepers would have been laughed away as big-government libs, whilst HuffPosters would have been lumped right with them, by many people who are now considered "conservative" or "liberal," respectively.
Wow, that’s interesting. The husband was a RINO. I had a bad feeling about Snopes once they “attempted” to shoot down the Obama BC controversy. Thanks for the post.
“...a typical SF liberal...”
No, he was not a Liberal. He was an outspoken anti-communist and a brave man. I once remarked that his namesake Abe Rosenthal of the New York Times had a much different political perspective than he (Mario Rosenthal). He said, “Rosenthal, it is like “Smith” for Jews”.
His excuse for eating turtle eggs, “They’re good”.
Turtle egg “whites” don’t turn white when they’re cooked. They stay clear and runny. So why do people eat them?
EEWWWW, yuck!
As my wife would say. If all the Rooster juice is not cooked she will not touch an egg.
Me, I like them over easy or sunny side up usually.
Omelets are good to.
and of course those massive Cuisinart blenders known as wind farms dicing up migratory birds and rare predators.
During a recent road trip to CA, my son and I joked that those windmills were providing a valuable service in ridding the areas of those pesky bird infestations.
Thanks for the ping!
