The Unraveling Of Obamacare
National Center For Policy Analysis ^ | NCPA/IBD

Posted on 10/12/2010 8:32:56 AM PDT by raptor22

Thirty companies and organizations get waivers from the new health care overhaul because otherwise they'd have to raise rates or drop coverage. The president said neither would happen. Hey, where's our waiver? asks Investor's Business Daily (IBD).

After telling federal regulators that it would be "economically prohibitive" for its insurance carrier to continue to cover its 30,000 hourly workers unless it received a waiver for its mini-med plans, McDonald's now has waivers for 115,000 workers, not just 30,000.

Jack in the Box also has a waiver, as do 28 other companies and organizations. The largest waiver, for 351,000 people, is for, appropriately enough, a union -- specifically the United Federation of Teachers Welfare Fund. The United Agricultural Benefit Trust, a California-based cooperative that provides such low-cost minimal coverage to farmworkers, was allowed to exempt 17,347 workers. Even what has been dubbed RomneyCare gets a waiver, with Massachusetts' universal health coverage bureaucracy getting an exemption for about 5,000 people.

Wouldn’t it be great if 100% of the population got a waiver from Obamacare, forever?

It's not ObamaCare. It's "The Patient Protection and Health Insurance Act".

And the number of people being exempted from its auspices is growing by the day.

File this under: Things that make you go, "Hmmmmm."

How about a permanent waiver for everyone in America!

I prefer to think of it as FUBO-Care.

Obongo Waiver Form:

1. Are you a communist?

2. Are you minority?

3. Are you a union stooge or thug?

4. Are you a leftist, or socialist, or democrat?

5. Are you willing to swear total obedience to Obongo?

6. Have you ever cursed or threatened George W. Bush?

7. Are you an illegal alien, wetback, or muslim terrorist?

8. Are you willing to assist Obongo in destroying America?

9. Are you willing to swear that you have seen Obongo's actual birth certificate?

If you answered yes to all the above, you get a waiver!

For every person who is exempt another person’s premiums increase.

We were recently informed by the company that our premiums will increase $87 a year. This is a cost that was absorbed by the company last year. They can’t afford to absorb it this year.

Thank God we both quit smoking. If we hadn’t the increase would have been $207 a year.

Another thing I didn’t see on the republicans “promise” list. CONGRESS WILL NOT BE EXEMPT FROM THE NEW HEALTH CARE LAW.

I am already hearing the word compromise from both sides

Can you please cite a reference and give a link for this?

I haven't heard anything about a compromise, and I'd like to make some calls if such talk has actually happened.

Great point. Term limits is the only real answer. The total corruption of our political system is caused by the need for re-election cash. For both RATS and Pubbies. areer politicians are killing our Republic.

I'm waiting for verification that any Republican is talking about compromise.

I haven't heard it, and would like it proven.

And if anyone IS talking 'compromise' we need to burn their ears and eyes with calls and e-mails.

That is, IF......
