Christine O’Donnell: Why isn’t the NRSC doing more to help me?
Hotair ^ | 10/15/2010 | Allahpundit

Posted on 10/15/2010 9:30:28 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Presumptive answer: Because she’s down by 20 points and resources aren’t infinite?

O’Donnell’s comments in her exclusive interview with Fox News followed an offhanded remark she had made in her ninety-minute exchange with Coons: “I’ve had to fight my party to be here on this stage to win the nomination, and to some extent I am still fighting my party.”…

But when this reporter asked O’Donnell herself how she is fighting her own party, the Republican nominee was ready to cite chapter and verse. Tthe Democratic senatorial committee is running ads against me. The Democratic Party is running ads against me,” she said. “The Republican Party on the state level, or on the national level, neither have come in to help me close the gap in the polls. And my opponent, there’s so much to attack him on, yet the NRSC refuses to play, and that, that baffles me. Because he’s a – he’s a sitting duck. There’s a lot to go after him [on].”

If Coons, who’s sitting on a giant lead and set to host Obama and Biden tomorrow, is a “sitting duck,” what does that make every other Democrat in the country? The NRSC (and, by extension, conservative outside groups) are looking at tight but winnable races in Nevada, Alaska, Washington, Illinois, and West Virginia; they’ve got healthy but not prohibitive leads in Pennsylvania, Florida, and Missouri; and they’ve got longshots with a prayer in California and Connecticut, neither of whom needs outside money to pay for ads but who’d certainly benefit from any kind of boost. Given all that, would you guys seriously advise Cornyn et al. to pour money into Delaware — at least before you see some movement for O’Donnell in the polls? At AmSpec, Jeffrey Lord cites sources who complain that the NRSC is sitting on $6 million reserved for Marco Rubio. Given that that race could change overnight if Meek dropped out and endorsed Crist, keeping money onhand for an emergency ad buy in an expensive market seems like … a prudent move, quite frankly. And don’t forget that not only does O’Donnell have $4 million in her own coffers, but bashing the NRSC and the Republican “establishment” the way she’s doing right here is bound to squeeze a few more bucks out of voters in the base. In fact, is that what this is about? Just playing good cop/bad cop with the NRSC to rile up conservatives into donating to her again? Or is it a case of setting up the establishment as a scapegoat if she loses? If only the NRSC and Karl Rove had bought her a few extra ads…

I can understand a new ad buy if next week’s polls suddenly show her within nine or 10 points, but until there are signs of life, how is more money at this point a smart expenditure for Cornyn?

Because she, like many others in the “Class of 2010” pose a direct threat to the existing ruling class. That group of people include liberals/progressives/socialists, democrats, RINOs, and republicans.

If she wins her race in 2010 the national organizations will be marginalized and they know it.

So, which would be better - to support a winner, or attempt to defeat her? Those living outside the beltway have one answer; those living inside have another. Guess who has which answer.

Any other questions?

I sure as heck won’t forget it. All these sour grapes Republican primary losers forgot sportsmanship, good manners and TEAMWORK! Their true colors haveshown me enough.

We’ll do fine this year but the next battle to finish the job is 2012.

Karl Rove and his RINOS are sending a message to Sarah Palin with their treatment of Christine O’Donnell. They have already anointed Mitt Romney as their candidate for 2012 and will begin their attacks on Palin once the mid-terms are over. So this is a sign of things to come from the anti-Palin RINOS.

Bingo. They are gonna unload on Sarah big-time after the election.

Richard Viguerie put it succinctly recently. He said everybody will be on the same page until Nov. 2. Then the war for the GOP begins.

Short answer: they don’t want to throw their money down a rat hole.

Winners never quit, and quitters never win.

She raised close to $3 million.

She only needs to advertise in a single market - 60% of Delaware's voters, and 80% of the voters she needs to win over, live within a 15 mile radius of Wilmington, DE.

She has the money she needs.

It's not like she's running for Senate in CA.

She's running for Senate in a jurisidiction that's smaller than many Congressional districts.

I have been honked off at Hannity for continuing to give Tokyo a forum to spew, but since Rove is a ‘Fox News Contributor’; I suppose he is stuck. On the other hand; I will give Hannity credit for giving Christine a forum to speak out, as he did yesterday...

It may be her luck that they do not, if she wins, she owes them nothing.

You got that right. If the 2012 Republican nominee is Mitt Romney, forget it!

The RINOs will make this strong plea for conservatives to hold their nose and show unity and get behind Mitt. NO WAY - NO HOW. The Lisa Murkowski/Mike Castle establishment type Republicans can take a long walk off a short pier.

The RINO deal for 2012 is already done: Mitt Romney/Scott Brown.

Even Ann Coulter will be on board with the RINOS and will start screeching that Palin is unelectable as soon as Mitt’s goons give the order.

She took in almsot 4 million dollars according to her finance reports. Why isn’t SHE doing all this advertising against the citting duck?

I presume the tea party organizations will start running millions in ads for her, because they support her very much.

Because Karl told them not to.

Yhea...I understand "that smuck"
(& i do know, what it means in Yiddish. :)
A Conservative Victory (in DE) isn't relevant enough for
Him & National RINOs in Washingtons' Ruling Class.
...only His "scholarly" Advise is relevant.

Of course, because independent voters in bluer-than-blue Delaware, who went for Kerry by 10 points, Gore by 14 points and Obama for 25 points, tend to hang on Karl Rove's every word.

Clearly they did whatever he told them to do in 2000, 2004 and 2008.

Yep, you are 100% correct, sir. However, they're in for a BIG surprise when Sarah fights back hard with her own increasingly powerful arsenal.

That’s definitely moving in the right direction. 11 points this election cycle is nothing and if she articulates her message properly with her war chest and attacks the dead fish Coons for his big spending, high taxing, statist behavior she’ll win this thing.

She’s starting to gain a little momentum, she now has to follow through with a tough ad campaign.
