Arson blamed for fire that destroyed Mormon church in Mukilteo Washington
The Herald ^ | October 16, 2010 | Gale Fiege

MUKILTEO — Arson is the cause of an early morning fire that destroyed a church building next door to Kamiak High School, fire and police officials said. No one was injured in the blaze.

The Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s office, the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and Mukilteo Fire and Police departments concluded Saturday afternoon that the fire was started outside near the back entry of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building at the corner of Harbour Pointe Boulevard and Chennault Beach Drive.

The two-alarm fire, first reported shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday, has left two Mormon congregations without a place to worship.

Firefighters at the nearby Mukilteo Fire Department responded within minutes, said Assistant Fire Chief Brian McMahan.

And they would be reaching out and praising God - not considering taking up arms. Amen

And they would not be latching onto the event to present themselves as being persecuted.

That’s the problem with religious bigots...they can’t see through anything but their twisted pitiful lens...pathetic.

Matthew 15:16
"Are you still so dull?" Jesus asked them.

And St. Paul chimes in...

Galatians 5:12
As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves!

If you haven’t seen some of the vicious attacks against LDS on here

Pointing out false doctrine is a vicious attack?

And it’s not my job to show them to you, it’s yours to do the research.

However you do make the assertions, so there is this matter of "burden of proof"....

Not a Mormon here, don’t believe in Mormonism, not for Myth, but most Mormons I’ve known are decent law abiding clean cut people.

Yes, and there is the rub, many are very decent people being manipulated by those over them. It runs so deep that at times you have to literally inundate them with the truth and exposure to the mythic and heretical cult they are trapped in. It take much to escape it's clutches and numerous approaches to do so.

You will forgive us if "loving" and "admiring" them right into the gates of hell itself is not what some of us choose to do...

I think Mormons for the most part are pretty darn good conservatives and don’t think it’s necessary to have posters, who for the most part, seem to be mainly here to post their anti-Mormon diatribes...

Then start your OWN conservative site and do not ALLOW that to happen!

They do not ALLOW it over at DU!

If you haven’t seen some of the vicious attacks against LDS on here, then you haven’t been reading those posts.

Have YOU been reading those posts?

Every day 52,000 mormons go door-to-door all over the world and tell folks that mormonism is the ONLY true church and whatever Christian faith these people have is false. I suppose this is to be ignored, right?

"Make the posters the issue, not the issues."

Link

As of December 31, 2009, there were 51,736 LDS missionaries serving in 344 church missions throughout the world. Their work, often in cooperation with local members, resulted in 280,106 convert baptisms in 2009.[12] Author David Stewart points out that the number of convert baptisms per missionary per year has fallen from a high of 8.03 in 1989 to just 4.67 in 2005.[13] He argues that the number of converts would increase if Mormon missionaries made greater efforts in meeting new people; he points out that the average companionship spends only four or five hours per week attempting to meet new people.[13]

How terrible it is that a handful of Christians post a handful of threads per week on FreeRepublic to counter the proselytizing efforts of the missionaries and public relations campaign of the mormon church. Don't you just feel SO sorry that the poor, persecuted mormons aren't able to have their message heard?

Before anyone starts pointing and placing blame you should wait till the police finishe their investigations!

When you have an administration who's motto is "never let a good crisis go to waste", it's best to expect that blame will be placed on their adversaries long before the police finish investigating. If they can capitalize on these two (or more) fires, they will do so prior to the election.

Matthew 15:16
"Are you still so dull?" Jesus asked them.

Out of curiousity (and I do NOT want to start a Bible war here since I'm WAY out of my league), what version of the Bible are you using? That quote seems extremely different from mine (King James Version):

And Jesus said, "Are ye also yet without understanding?"

Of course it is within the context of a larger story, but what strikes me is how the translation has gone from asking if they yet understand to asking if they are "dull". Seems to me that accusing someone of being "dull" is akin to calling them 'mentally slow' or stupid. I don't think that was the intent of his statement.

Anyway, just curious.

Seriously?

There would be no so called “anti” posts but for the LDS posters being anti-Christian and spewing their supposed superiority and restoration of whatever.

The will tell you point blank you are worshiping in a state of apostacy and there is no salvation without Joseph Smith.

Doesn’t make them bad guys, doesn’t make us good guys.

However, they have a duplicitous claim in that they believe the Bible is rife with errors, at the same they hold true to the KJV Bible. They further add to with their BoM and D&C.

They are so called 1st century adherents of Christ’s organization, whatever that is, and they are holder of the Melchizedek priesthood. By the way that priesthood died with Aaron.

Even so if they were to be so called gods in their after life, were is one example of their predecessor gods?

I am reminded of the story of Nicodemus and no man can cross the Great Divide. Not for the quenching of thirst or to warn others of the terrible calamity that awaits, if one assumes a lifelong position in opposition to God’s will for our lives.

If you are a Christian, they don’t consider you a Christian.

They do mysteriously consider themselves Christians all the sudden, despite their opposition to Christianity, who in their view are apostates and “Whores of Babylon”.

If you are a Christian, how can you say their view is acceptable, while your view of Christianity is not valid?

In their previous years they always proclaimed Christianity an apostate belief. Now, so they can become mainstream, they suddenly want to co-opt Christianity.

For 150years us whores and apostates were in error and now they want to call themselves Christans?

They always self identified as LDS but their new meme is “We are the same, but you are not”.

Really? On their word alone?

must be a new revelation ala 1974.
